    Strong academic environment and diverse opportunities for research and experience. Faculty are some of the best in their respective fields.

    Cons

    State legislature is pushing back on the University and the pay scale is lower then comparable places.

    Reactionary "business-oriented" state legislature has the power of the purse and has done damage in recent years: some good programs curtailed or eliminated.

    Exert your influence to change the state legislature.

    Pros

    I’ve loved my employment and those I work with. With competitive pay and a supportive environment, you can’t go wrong!

    Cons

    There aren’t any cons really. I would say the only downside is the location of Chapel Hill is less than ideal for outdoor enthusiasts.

    Advice to Management

    I would say to keep doing what you are doing. Again, I have loved my time at UNC as a student and employee.
