I have been working at University of Warwick full-time

    Pros

Great campus, great people, encouraged to progress and succeed, always lots of conferences and guest seminars happening to learn more about your field.

    Cons

Parking on campus is sometimes a nightmare, transport is often rammed, general admin isn't the easiest. Needs more restaurants on campus too.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up, keep encouraging students and make sure staff are able to manage their additional hours easily regarding invigilating exams, additional teaching etc.

I worked at University of Warwick full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    A nice campus and facilities

    Cons

I would not advise working here especially if you are a middle aged woman. In my experience there are too many overqualified middle aged women stuck in low paid clerical jobs without an opportunity to progress. It is completely demoralising environment and full of nepotism. Too many barriers and a "them vs us" attitude between academics and clerical workers.

    Advice to Management

Start promoting women more and give them something to aim for!

I have been working at University of Warwick part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love working here because the team is large with varied experiences. Everyone is very passionate and cares about what they do. I have autonomy in my role and am supported when trying new things. Everyone is encouraged to develop their skills and careers rather than stand still. The benefits are fabulous too and it's a very flexible place for work/life balance etc. The on-site Sports Centre is a bonus for me and I can't wait to try out the new Sports Hub when it opens next Spring. People love working here, which is obvious by the number of years some people have been here!

    Cons

I can't think of anything which would be a con for working here. I can honestly say I love it! I suppose the only downside would be the parking issues, and having to pay for parking. Also the food is the University House cafe is rubbish and expensive. Minor issues!

    Advice to Management

Improve UH Cafe. Improve parking (in progress).

I have been working at University of Warwick full-time

    Pros

The work/life balance here is fantastic. Line managers are extremely supportive of career development and there are plenty of opportunities to develop professionally and personally. There are unexpected benefits like learning vouchers which I've never had anywhere else

    Cons

Car parking spaces and costs can be a point of contention and with such a big team and office layout it can be hard to get to know people
