Pros

You will work for a company with a 4-star Glassdoor rating. To maintain that, however, you will have to do your part and encourage Uscreen to send out cease-and-desist letters. So yes, they maintain a somewhat positive image almost entirely through their aggressive legal posture. If you're unfortunate enough to be victimized with an offer, you will recognize that in that mountains of paperwork you will be commanded to sign. You will get a foot in the door re: the creator economy, and you may come to love it despite feeling a bit stupid because you could just gone straight for one of the many functional and healthy companies in this space.

Cons

Uscreen is extremely litigious and will send a pack of lawyers after you when you try to perform your civic duty and warn the job-seeking public about their abusive practices. That's why their ratings are so high, and that is a fact they cannot deny. Everyone is under a non-disparagement clause and they will not hesitate to enforce it. Sadly for them, I am a woman of principle. For example, they will tell you they're 100+. They actually used to be closer to 200 but fired half the workforce in the space of a year. This was a stealth layoff, demonstrating their utter lack of transparency. You can confirm it for yourself in 2022/23 interviews where they brag about being 200+ then suddenly shut up about it. People were put on undeserved PIPs at this time and fired without cause so Uscreen wouldn't have to pay severance. Things may have changed because the current CEO at least has an education. That was actually a condition for the growth equity exit as the founder and previous CEO was simply not investible. But he was kept on in a ceremonial role to avoid spooking customers. The haemorrhaging of institutional knowledge has been enormous. All the C-level and VP-level were purged in the last 6 months or so. While it's a decade-plus old company, it actually has the operational maturity of one that's a year old. Another thing: The job you're hired for may not be the job they ask/demand that you do. There have been several cases of people being moved teams and departments within four months or even before their probation is up. And it has happened to the same people multiple times a year. For what it's worth, it typically happens to women and ethnic minorities so you decide how you feel about that. There is a culture of abuse and blame-shifting at this company. Things haven't been okay for a long time so just know you're being lied when they try to paint a rosy picture during the interviews. All in all, this is a highly sociopathic company that will not benefit your career in any form.

Big Brother CEO with Disappointing Culture

Pros

Overall team gets along great, we got to go on a retreat

Cons

The last couple of reviews seem very suspicious as they are just days apart and are glowing. The company culture is so stifling and hard to work with. No one likes the "time tracking" (which is basically spying) but won't say anything for fear of repercussion or termination.

We pride ourselves in the fact that our team gets along so well and are happy that you agree. That being said, I’d love to address your concerns. We encourage employees to leave reviews in an effort to provide a current and accurate picture of the organization. Though some of these reviews have been within a similar time-frame we are happy that our team is engaged and willing to contribute to the statistics on Glassdoor, and we will continue to encourage individuals to contribute their honest feedback and share their experiences. As our team is almost entirely remote, we don’t have the option to swing by someone’s desk to see if they’re in the office. By using a time-tracking platform it allows us a means to track attendance and productivity. This is simply a tool that allows transparency and accountability, we have an amazing team that does wonderful work! That being said, we do need tools in place in case there are any concerns that need to be documented/addressed. I sincerely hope that if you aren’t comfortable discussing with your manager, that you reach out to me to discuss your experiences and concerns. My virtual door is always open!! -Kelley

Pros

Uscreen has an amazing product, it's easy to feel excited and knowledgeable when interacting with customers. I would give this place a 5 star review if it wasn't for the many negatives that outweigh the positives. The teams consist of incredibly talented, knowledgeable and friendly people. Some of the best teams I have ever worked with. Remote is of course a huge plus as well.

Cons

Uscreen will claim that they are a startup company during the interview process, which simply isn't true. They are not a startup and have 200+ employees across the globe and 1000+ customers. They significantly underpay and understaff certain departments, have a non existent onboarding process for new hires and overwork them as well. It's interesting that they claim to lead with "empathy" when their actions toward customer facing roles say otherwise. Their actions give an impression more along the lines of "we will give you negative feedback and give you outrageous quotas to encourage you to 'work even harder.' If we give you positive feedback and don't micromanage you (btw, your laptop is not provided and you will have screenshots taken of your activity every 10 minutes while you are on the clock), you'll probably slack off. Also, if you don't meet our outrageous quotas or you make a mistake, we will fire you." I have seen this happen to many people at the company. They have unlimited PTO, but what is the point of that if you are just going to dread coming back to even more work after your time off? It seems like it's not even worth it because you will fall so far behind after taking time off. Valuable employees are being let go left and right (for really generic and unreasonable causes), Uscreen is also now in a hiring freeze .. so all existing employees are left with more work, on top of their existing accounts and new orders coming in every day. More pay? Nope. Just a complete lack of respect for employees that they would not be able to exist without. This is common practice for many companies but that doesn't make it acceptable, especially for a company that claims to be progressive and "empathetic" toward their workers. TERRIBLE BENEFITS. Pretty much nothing for insurance is covered by the company. You will need to pay for your benefits out of pocket if you are located in the US (not sure how it works in other countries). Do better, Uscreen.
