Pros

You get to work with a lot of different medical devices. You learn a lot but it is definitely a stepping stone because they do not value your work to pay you enough.

Cons

The pay is under market and they want more work for less money.

Pros

- Learn a lot regarding HFE, and quickly - Work on a broad array of medical products, including combination products - Stepping stone to better opportunities - Decent health and dental; 401k matching - Junior team is mostly fun and kind - If you set boundaries you can maintain work-life balance

Cons

- Hemorrhaging employees due to demands of management and toxic company culture. Most people, if not everyone, is constantly looking for other roles or opportunities which makes people tense. - As an engineer, you are expected to actively work in business development, sales, and recruitment roles (increasingly over since Q4 2022) which are not explicitly stated duties. - Pay is in lower percentiles for the role, location, and industry (very low) - Expect maximum billable hours but also for multiple projects to be juggled at high efficiency. If you go over contract, you are chastised for requiring an amendment. If you are under, you are chastised for not working enough on the project (even if you delivered high-quality work). - Need to set boundaries or you will be constantly working evenings and weekends. Even then, they look down on you for not "chipping in" - Management are cold and rude. - They might be out of business by the end of the year considering the turnover

Pros

Opportunities to work on a lot of different projects, CEO seems very hard working and does a good job bringing in work for the company.

Cons

Poor response to COVID and WFH changes. CEO & Management didn't realize that their employees might be struggling and that they were getting burnt out. In fact, it sounded like they expected MORE work to be done because it's ‘easier to work from home’. I don't understand how individuals who claim to be Human Factors Engineers could not foresee negative impacts due to COVID/WFH and did not bother to check in about their employees' health. From what I heard, it was not until late 2020 where management decided to send a short, 3 question survey every week to assess how the team’s overall well-being was. but that was it. They have very high expectations for maximizing work efficiency. They are not shy about expressing disappointment over extra hours used towards project work. The CEO does not seem friendly and doesn’t seem approachable or empathetic towards others, or at least towards lower-level engineers. The senior management and engineers seem to get along just fine with the CEO. I had a really great working experience with one senior engineer and an awful working experience with another. High turnover.
