I have been working at VMA Group full-time

    Pros

Lots of space for progression, if you are hungry enough, with a very adult autonomous culture

    Cons

More investment in technology to empower recruiters and
more public corporate alignment with industry bodies and institutions to reflect VMA's great standards and accomplished portfolio of clients

    Advice to Management

Keep up the recognition and investment in the VMA Publications for each discipline

-The staff are willing to go that extra mile & help others.
-All staff (billing or not) are recognized for their efforts.
    -The company has Great incentives.
-There is capacity for career developments which is supported by management.

I have been working at VMA Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great workplace culture
    - Collaborative team, everyone genuinely out to help each other
    - People go above and beyond because they want to, not because they're asked to
    - Company excellent at recognising people at every level and in every role, billing consultant or not
    - Hugely proactive CEO and leaders who have their internal audience at the forefront of every decision
    - Autonomy to effectively run your own mini business within the VMAGROUP brand
    - No recruitment micro-management culture. Yes we have KPIs and targets to hit but they're guidelines for success rather than your classic recruitment KPI driven environment.
    - Clients and candidates warm to the brand so that in turn makes the role far more enjoyable
    - Great offsite incentives
    - Best commission structure I've seen
    - Competitive salaries
    - Great career potential and a clear pathway to promotion
    - Global mobility (Hong Kong, Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam, London etc...)
    - For a communications agency, their communications channels are excellent and there is a constant stream of recognition from the top, filtering through the management team. They do this very well!
    - There is a clear purpose on what we want to achieve as a business and as a result, the overwhelming majority are invested in making a success of both themselves and the business.

    Cons

    - I wouldn't say it's a con but you're expected to make things happen. If you like an environment where you're supported in everything you do then it's not for you. You need to go any try things, pro-actively source people across the business and get stuff done. Everyone is busy but people will always help, you just have to ask.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Thank you for including us in what you discuss and being so transparent on the direction in which we're heading as a business. It's exciting!

    - Managers are encouraging at all times
    - Progress reviews

    - Social outings
    - Elite club

I have been working at VMA Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly colleagues
    Great environment to work in
Lots of commission to be made
Lots of opportunities with moving across different business areas, even globally rather than just in the UK
Sales based role with achievable KPIs that aren't hammered home every moment of the day
Company incentives such as 'elite club' and trips abroad for success
Good learning and development programme to develop your skills and long term career

    Cons

With any sales based role there are good times and bad. This isn't a reflection on the company, but is worth considering when thinking about a sales based job where it doesn't always go to plan!

    Advice to Management

There's nothing I can immediately think of. Management are always open to listening to feedback and helping and advising where possible.

    Pros

Highly professional and collaborative. VMA Groups has a unique position in the Marketing and Communications recruitment arena by going above and beyond for candidate and client skills development.

    Cons

None that are springing to mind. VMA are good to respond to any issues flagged up by staff and are ready to address them. They genuinely look after staff who in turn look after clients.

I have been working at VMA Group part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people at VMA really stand out, a group of people who enjoy working together and take pride in celebrating each other’s successes.

The corporate communications industry is a fantastic industry to recruit for - engaged and highly skilled communicators make for very interesting business meetings and events.

Excellent social activities and sales as well as company incentives without being "Forced fun"

The opportunity to develop your career, not only as a recruiter but also across all areas of the business and also internationally is also a really positive part of being an employee at VMA Group.

    Cons

Our tech could be much improved -but that is something that is recognised and being worked on.

    Advice to Management

Invest in tech - we need to be able to continue to lead from the front!

I have been working at VMA Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

From the outset I could tell that VMA Group were hugely committed to their people and the opportunities to progress within the organisation very apparent. The culture and people are great and having a strong and respected brand behind you only helps speed your role success along.

    Cons

Inevitably in recruitment it's not all smooth. You need to be able to put your head down and work hard to get the desired results, but if you do do this, you're sure to be a success.

    Advice to Management

Keep communicating with us on the direction of the business, keep recognising our success, continue to reward us for great work and you'll keep your talent right where it is.
