      Pros

Amazing experience living at a ski resort

      Cons

The pay wasn't the highest; though this would've been a trade off for the work-life balance

      Pros

Vail’s inorganic growth over the years has left lots of gaps to fill. If looking from a “glass half full” perspective, every employee has a change to implement change.

      Cons

The inorganic growth has left the entire company fractured. The lack of strategic direction leaves every employee at every level spinning in circles. Due to the turnover rate, most leaders are in their position for retention, and not experience. The lack of experienced leadership add to the negative culture & working environment. If offered employment, beware of their laxed onboarding efforts, & please find yourself a “click” or you’ll very quickly feel like an outsider looking in.

      Pros

get to work and live in whistler

      Cons

vail siphon the money out of everywhere they acquire, and have no regard for the people that work to support their company. Their only interest is the stakeholders

liberal facade hides standard big corp atmosphere

      Pros

you get to ski all 'epic' resorts for free. 'corse, on the wages they pay itd be hard to travel to, and then stay at any of them

      Cons

Its clear lawyers and corporate types run the show. Little room for locally made operational decisions. Beware the half hour 'honeycomb' meetings, a waste of half an hour or so, and management try to do them daily. Part of these meetings would be talking about the hazards of the day... you know... like it being cold (on a ski mountain), or sunny (and a good thing too, id never even heard of sun lotion before working for vail). Patronising beyond belief. Sometimes, they even throw in a 'job hazard assessment' meeting, BEFORE doing a honeycomb.

      Vail resorts. Ski from work.

      Pros

There are a number of good reasons for working at Vail resorts. There is subsidisied housing offered for employees as well as a free ski pass for the season. Vail resorts also hires a lot of seasonal workers from in and outside the United States. Therefore those of you wanting to soak up some American culture but earn a living and ski at the same time this is definately a good place to go. There are a lot of young people all there to work and play hard.

      Cons

It is away from the main cities as well as the work being highly seasonal. But a great job for the young and free.
