Management lives in a bubble and does not take well to employees that raise issues.
There is little to no process in place for program and project management and proposal management is run by the seat of their pants.
I was brought on without a full time contract to support my salary and the company was not winning any new contracts. During my tenure I received only positive feedback and absolutely no negative or critical feedback. On a Friday afternoon I was called into a meeting with my manager at a co-working office space (because the company doesn't have any real offices) under the auspices of my mid-year performance evaluation. As I walked into the conference room with him, he was fumbling with his phone trying to dial the HR director. I was terminated immediately (on a Friday afternoon) and given no severance, they did not pay out my accrued PTO, and the kicker is that my health insurance ended immediately as well. Who does that??? On top of this, my manager had the nerve to repeat to me several times that I was eligible for rehire! You must be kidding! For a company that claims that employees are their most valuable resource and are like family, they certainly screw you over when they have no further use for you. I have worked at a number of places (large and small) and have been caught up in RIFs (reduction in force) and I have never been treated so poorly. It was a total MANAGEMENT FAIL!
