Pros

There are definite pros to Vertic. - Smart people - Stocked kitchen (no microwave) - Management is accessible when you needed to have a conversation - Open to change and improvement

Cons

What is interesting about Vertic is that it was started by business consultants so one would expect it would be run efficiently and well managed. Unfortunately that is not the case. Senior management is not on the same page about how hires, operations and other important things. It is still a mystery how the NY office makes any money much less a profit since there are not a lot of clients or projects. Account Management made up of one is actually project management in disguise and at the root of most of their problems. All tactics, no strategy. Account Management speaks and you actually scratch your head at what was just said. Account Management also runs people into the ground so they quit or not produce great work. Both are major issues that need to be assessed. Project Management was finally getting it together and then most of the team was let go. Statements of Work are gibberish and written with out any consensus from the people that have to deliver. Creative Director is based in Denmark and is stretched way too thin. Impacted client expectations and creative deliverables.

Pros

Opportunity to wear many different hats.

Cons

Micromanagement on every project. CEO insists on final approval and will negate client's satisfaction in favor of his own. Favoritism of Europeans over Americans in the office is disheartening. Overworked Project Managers in competition to obtain severely lacking resources. Incompetence with a constant 'yes' attitude will take you places.

Pros

Unlimited gourmet snacks and alcohol in the office SoHo location Good pay

Cons

High micro-management by executive team. Program management team is very un-organized, not up to date on current trends in the industry, and do not give creative and development teams the confidence to do a good job. Project management leads get too involved and makes everyone's job much harder than it needs to be. The executive teams say they are open to process feedback, but then have a my-way-or-the-highway attitude and will make your life miserable. Most people who work here do not speak or write in English very well. Boys club No summer Fridays Do not get Martin Luther King Day or Presidents Day off Open between Christmas and New Years No benefits other than a crappy health insurance policy Company changes the Employee Handbook whenever they want
