Pros

Interesting projects and knowledge colleagues

Cons

I know everyone puts their opinion on this website. I want to show facts. Go to the VIKA website and look at leadership. 10 white men and 1 Philippine man. No African Americans, No Women. This should tell you everything you need to know about this company. Stay away from this company. Someone is in tears every week. Leadership thinks yelling and screaming will motivate employees. They need to stop the nepotism. It is so ridiculous.

Pros

Diverse project history and clients. 401k match. Bonuses.

Cons

Confusing leadership at times. Micromanagement. Expected to come in early, skip lunch and stay late. Family is not important and if you have one you won’t see them or be able to spend time with them. Working here means you only have one family and that’s VIKA. The only question is: will this give the owners a bigger return on their investment? Your efforts are not appreciated. Overtime was allowed in the beginning. About halfway through my employment that changed. I was frequently given more work and expected to meet impossible, constantly changing deadlines. Get the work done and then at the end of the week argue about the overtime I had to work to get everything done. Several times during my employment I was yelled at in the middle of the day in front of all my Coworkers over minute details that were, in the end, not even my fault. There were never any apologies for upper managements behavior. Don’t even get me started on nepotism. Employees related to the owners get away with murder and then some. These inexcusable actions and words are never apologized for nor ceased during my employment. The behavior was never corrected during my employment. I highly doubt it has been corrected since. Pre pandemic drinking in the office was not only allowed but encouraged. If you are not rich you will not fit in. If you do not value profit and the almighty dollar above everything else: you will not fit in. Your only value is how useful you are and what you have done for people THAT day. Never mind what you accomplish during your employment. Never mind how much heaven and earth is moved. How much is sacrificed personally and how little you are thanked. If I could go back to my first day I would quit on the spot.

Terrible senior management.

Pros

They are very knowledgeable about local jurisdictions and do not have a lot of staff turnover.

Cons

Senior management is extremely sexist. They are constantly making sexist remarks towards other consultants and people we work with regularly. There is a large nepotism problem here as well. If your last name is Amatetti, the rules do not apply to you (including sexual harassment). The HR department is a joke. The senior management does not seem to care about the employees health and safety. During the COVID-19 pandemic, employees were rushed back to the office and lied to about return being voluntary. Telework options were not offered until mandated by the governor. They do not offer any paid family leave and the amount sick/vacation leave is below average. The salaries are below average for the area as well, but they offer bonuses to balance it out.
