I worked at Vodafone full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great offices and people. It's a fairly big campus with lots of cafe's, gym, hairdressers, and even a GP.

    Cons

There is a lot of change here and staff rotation. Hot desks can be a down side for finding somewhere near your team, and not great for colds etc.

I worked at Vodafone full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lovely campus, nice coffee, some good people, never a quiet day.

    Cons

Over the past year and a half the UK business has lost sight of what matters, it's greatest asset, people. The previous regime showed some caring, they were replaced by pit bull types who recruited like minded people which has sent the staff morale on a downward spiral. HR useless they show no caring either and just enact the hardened policies of their masters. Watch out for: Cost cutting including 'encouraging' experienced more expensive staff to leave to be replaced by shiny, young, mould able, naive and cheaper equivalents. Constant reorgs and annual culls - no job security, a sign of a mature industry with reduced revenues. Buzz words - if it ain't digital or agile they don't want to know. Every man for themselves - antiquated toxic bell curve review system forces people to tread across one another to get what's in it for them at the expense of working as a team. Nepotism - at the higher levels lack of outside talent in place of Vodafone journeymen from other opcos doing their tour. Treadmill of pressure - constantly chasing unrealistic targets - running fast to stand still, burning people out on an increasing basis Pay - used to pay well but cost focus means now not so good, especially given what they demand of you. Positive bias too far - if you're white, male and middle aged then chances are others who aren't who are less capable may get prioritised in front of you for opportunities. Politics - its rife and facilitated by the review process. Be prepared to watch your back as others try and tread across your patch/ try and claim the glory. Hierarchical - too much focus on your band in terms of who talks to who.
