    Pros

Amazing onboarding, great benefits, inclusive environment... and Melissa is wonderful!

    Cons

It can get really clique-y, and if you aren't the right "type" of person, you'll have a much harder time making work friends. Additionally, some managers appear to have been promoted because of their account management skills alone *only* - not because of their ability to lead employees.

I have been working at WE Communications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I recently started working here at headquarters in Seattle and already love it. Benefits are great, work-life balance is valued, and the people here are highly motivated. Pay is decent as well, compared to other mid to large PR agencies. Employees exhibit a great deal of pride in the service they provide to their clients. Work is work, but WE has built a company culture that makes work more enjoyable and immersive.

    Cons

The agency is understandably tech-dominant in the Seattle office; most of the employees at headquarters provide support on enterprise tech company accounts, limiting some options in trying out different sectors. HOWEVER, working on non-tech accounts is entirely possible, just requires some forethought and research to find out what you want to work on.

I have been working at WE Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Overall, nice people, many of whom are smart and dedicated. Nice office in Bellevue, WA but it can be a bear if you're commuting from Seattle.

    Cons

The promotion process is conducted by the circle of "mean girls" -- EVPs and SVPs who have been with agency for ions and meet regularly with the chiefs Promotions rely on you the employee of having an advocate in room, i.e., a senior leader who likes you and will go to bat for you but that only happens if you're a golden child. Even if you do quality work and go the extra mile for clients, it goes unnoticed unless you're...

I worked at WE Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The agency does great work for its clients. The brands that are part of the client portfolio provides great opportunities to work on accounts that are household names.

    Cons

Extremely inconsistent promotion tracks. Incredibly poor managers. Extremely long hours with pressure to meet high billable hour goals. Bonus program is used extremely sparingly and oftentimes was used to keep employees who were clearly unhappy. Tremendous loss of middle level (AE/SAE) staff due to those levels carrying huge burdens of the workload while higher levels took credit. Benefits are mediocre. The agency touts...

    Advice to Management

Find a way to let your employees shine for the work they do. Get rid of the superficial attempts to keep your employees and take a much closer/careful look of how you honor your mid-level employees. Get in-touch with your employees. The company is not big enough for key senior leaders to not know what is happening in the day-to-day account roles.

I have been working at WE Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Clients represented are some of the most well-known companies and brands in the world. At WE, we are responsible for full-scale communications, getting to work on incredible projects and work on behalf of these companies. -For those looking to gain PR experience to either go to another agency, in house, or even advance up the ranks at WE, this agency has one of the best reputations in the business. They're doing...

    Cons

-Team dynamics and opportunity for advancement varies (sometimes drastically) across the agency so that even if you are operating at a high level, if your team (or manager) is slow to promote, you could get "stuck" at a more junior level. -Salary is not competitive with the marketplace, but experienced gained oftentimes outweighs that. -Lack of diversity within the agency, although we support those efforts for...

    Advice to Management

-Create a standardized process across the agency for considering promotions, and if a title promotion isn't available, bring options to the table (such as merit bonus, vacation days, etc.) That goes a long way in creating company loyalty and encouraging people to stay at the agency, when competitors are paying much more.

    Pros

Modern office Work from Home flexibility Young professional dominated Client travel Well known in industry Good on your resume going forward

    Cons

The culture here is terrible. It is a cycle of burnout and client over servicing. I just kept trying and waiting for it to get better and thinking I’ll finally hit certain goals but the bar kept moving. Their strategy is to get people in there young, abuse them by working them to the core and paying them nothing and just letting them burn out til they leave. They just need the labor. Then the only people who succeed are...

I worked at WE Communications full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - great clients - smart team members - benefits package - work experience

    Cons

    - poor leadership cemented into several different teams - churn and burn mentality for anyone below account manager - lack of opportunity for anyone who's not identified as a favorite

    Advice to Management

It's been a minute since I worked here, but I ran into some old colleagues at an industry event and was reminded of how happy I was when I left. Wag Ed (or, WE Communications, now, I suppose) has all the makings of a great agency from the outside. Lots of smart people working here, great investment in culture and work processes, and some outstanding clients. The major issue for most people working in this agency...

I worked at WE Communications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great and casual culture, top tier clients, large agency feeling disguised in a small agency body, CEO is exactly what she should be (open, progressive, accessible).

    Cons

For a communications agency, it was somehow impossible to know where you stood within the company, due to poor communication. The company preaches an "over communicate via email" mantra, but when it comes to important updates or decisions, this is not true, in person.
