I have been working at WE Communications full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People are great. Global brands and more flexible than other agencies.

    Cons

The industry has a lot of churn, especially for entry-level. If you haven’t been at the company for a long time, it can feel like a lot of people are leaving all the time.

I worked at WE Communications for more than a year

    Pros

Generous vacation grant and nice offices. You have an actual desk in an open environment.

    Cons

Low salaries. It's clear from day 1 that they don't expect anyone to stay and retire here. Bizarre benefit range. A company created by women and packed with younger women offers two weeks parental leave. Terrible management that encourages people to turn on each other in the name of competition. No promotion track outside of management, so people who don't want to be/aren't qualified to be managers are given direct reports without proper training. Constant layoffs means everyone lives in fear of losing their job. Being a PR agency, everyone works hard at spinning bad situations rather than trying to improve them.

    WE Communications Response

    June 5, 2017SVP

Thank you for your feedback about your experience at WE. I want you to know that we care about your experience here and we’ll be discussing your feedback and consider any improvements. For an independent company of our size, we strive to offer market equivalent compensation and benefits. In the area of parental leave, I’m happy to report that we’ve actually been offering four weeks since last fall, and we’re always looking at ways that we can improve our offering in this area. If you feel comfortable, please consider reaching out to me directly to share more details at KateR@we-worldwide.com. -Kate

I worked at WE Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Global agency with a lot of opportunity for growth and travel. Big, important clients and projects with high expectations and massive reach. Resources to do really cool storytelling on the account side and services side (creative, content, digital, etc) Sophisticated management and HR structure that values experience and career growth. Fair compensation and bonus structure. Ability to move up quickly in salary and responsibility.

    Cons

I suspect some people would say a con is having Microsoft as a major client. It's not. It's a real opportunity to work on a major global account and you will do really sophisticated and top tier work. As far as actual cons go, the commute to Bellevue from Seattle isn't always the most fun part of your day. But WE does provide transit passes and parking compensation which helps.

    "Friendly at first but Cut-Throat"

I worked at WE Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some very smart and talented people, very good benefits and pay, some flexibility in working from home. Big name clients but that is changing as only Microsoft seems to be willing to pay their ridiculous fees.

    Cons

This company was born out of Microsoft and despite the friendly facade and emphasis on collaboration when they recruit you, you will soon find out that it is just as cut-throat, with other teams competing with one another for ownership rather than supporting each other. I've given ideas that clients loved but managers on "competing" teams squash because they want to gain full ownership of the project and squeeze others out. People throw each other under the bus all the time when something fails, and managers like to pretend that they will mentor you, but once you join you have to navigate this hostile, bureaucratic environment all on your own. It is no surprise that managers move on to places like Amazon where they can continue to be bullies. There is a lot of secrecy and politics, which is odd because they force a lot of phony, corny team-building type things down your throat, which only serves to emphasize how fake everyone is.

    Pros

Amazing people, great benefits and the opportunity to work with top brands!

    Cons

The office is way off the beaten path and is too large of space for the amount of people in Oregon.
