      Pros

My review here is based on and during the COVID-19 pandemic 1. WIKA did a tremendous job with their handling of the pandemic. They had excellent procedures in place to remove any chance an outbreak inside the building. 2. WIKA also had a very good plan to mitigate the loss in business by continuing to remain open and keep people hired on. 3. Office work is generally not stressful although the pandemic has added its own set off stressors. 4. I enjoy a good work life balance. My bosses are very understanding and extremely helpful. 5. You don't have the fear of being fired for mistakes. They are all considered learning and growth opportunities unless it is a blatant disregard for the rules and/or insubordination. 6. People are very nice and friendly. 7. There is constant communication between upper management and all employees with multiple town hall meetings. 8. Open lines of communication

      Cons

      1. WIKA allowed early retirement for individuals during the pandemic, which added additional work for departments across the company especially manufacturing and manufacturing support. This will probably be better once business picks back up and the company is able to hire more people. 2. Being in Georgia, I would expect all companies to observe MLK day. WIKA's first holiday is not until April when they observe Good Friday or Spring holiday. 3. PTO, Vacation, sick day are all one bucket which is a bummer. That should mean as a new employee you would start out with more but that's not the case.

      Pros

Getting to learn about the products and assembly of products on factory floor.

      Cons

Not a structured marketing team. Lots of silos and each person is out for themselves and rarely works together as a team. Very quiet and boring whereas a marketing team should be fun, outgoing and lively. They hire on contract basis for a marketing position?? You are treated like a teenager having to clock in and out each and every day. No work life balance what so ever.

Great People & Culture, Fair Practices

      Pros

Excellent benefits, extremely fair and well rounded employee practices, AMAZING team of people, many who have been with WIKA for 10+ years. The company truly cares about their people and is investing a lot into making it a better place to work all the time, from manufacturing to sales. Work/life balance is awesome and managers really understand that you have a life outside work and will work with you to accommodate that.

      Cons

Some people find it challenging to work in a constantly changing, continuously improving environment. I do not personally view this as a con per se, but it could be and is challenging for some new people who have not been exposed to such a change environment.

Zero work life balance, upper mgmt has no people skills, mgmt does not empower the production workers, good benefits

      Pros

Excellent benefits, the company contributes 3% to an IRA account even if the employee contributes nothing. In addition to a regular IRA, a Roth IRA is also offered as a choice.

      Cons

Work life balance is severely lacking. If production is behind, be prepared to work at least one day every single weekend for as long as it takes to catch-up. Upper management is not inclined to ask line operators for their good ideas to improve production/quality, even though the employee may have a much better idea for how to improve quality/productivity. Upper management runs things like a drill sergeant and employees are no better than a piece of machinery to them. Management is constantly looking for someone to blame for something. Inadequate training for new employees. Low morale and poor teamwork. Employees do not feel appreciated. Starting pay is at the low end of the scale compared to other companies within the same job category.
