I worked at Wahaca full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

This company embraces individuality, is well organised. Annual party is amazing. Feel part of a community.

    Cons

Can be long hours but this is the nature of working in hospitality.

I worked at Wahaca part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I used to work part time and was able to negotiate the hours I needed. Was paid on time. Used to have good training system until it went online.

    Cons

Moving upwards was hard in a part time position. At some point the training became unpaid but compulsory. Colleagues had to wait till the last minute for the rota so the work life balance was pretty bad.

    I worked at Wahaca full-time

    Pros

Enjoyed my shift with a few female waitresses - they were very hard workers.

    Cons

Ok-ish (not sure I should say Ideal?) job for young people who are trying to make a bit of money doing mundane things all day long but definitely would not want to be stuck here. Very awkward working environment for women. A bit confusing and uncomfortable - may be culture, however honestly feel like there are no excuses. Professionalism is a must, particularly in this industry where women deal with a lot from customers...

I have been working at Wahaca full-time

    Pros

Easy job, no need for tremendous starting food knowledge (good for a first job and those people who don't want to progress). Flexibility with rota ( Can swap with colleges and also other wahacos from different branch) Free Food on Shift All cash tips go home As a waiter you will learn how to give a good service based on the step of service provided. 70% discount on food out of working hours for you and 3 other friends/family...

    Cons

Tips on card and service charge deduction based on weekly sales (3.75 % more a less). Example end of shift: sales(1000£) \ Service Charge(43£) - 37.5£ (3.75% of 1000£) = 5.50£. You wont have knowledge about food or wine for future employers if you want to grow as a waiter in the industry. Given its an entry level job, personal problems, laziness, drama and egos are a norm.

I worked at Wahaca full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Absolutely no Pros at all

    Cons

Horrible horrible experience! I was brought into work as a local marketing assistant and I was absolutely shocked to be made to work in the restaurants on my first week. I have never worked in a restaurant environment and to be made to wait on tables during rush hour lunch, or working in the back peeling onions and frying chips was a joke. When I got my contract they never gave me my staff handbook and to this day I haven't...
