I worked at Waitrose full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Enjoyable experience , opportunities to move around the firm.

    Cons

Interview process seems a little protracted for the requirements of the role. It's difficult to see how a prospective employee could demonstrate their true worth under such convoluted questioning.

    Advice to Management

Improve and simply your interview processes.

    Pros

Work was fun and everyone was friendly,

    Cons

I was left to do a lot of work by myself, working on fresh, and I was expected to just leave my position whenever anyone wanted me to help me with what they wanted - and often the work I was meant to be doing, was not completed, or was not up to standard

    Advice to Management

Make sure all staff are comfortable enough to be able to complete their job to the best standard at the required time

I worked at Waitrose (More than a year)

    Pros

Being a partner meant I felt more invested in the business
    Staff were treated fairly
Reduced goods going out of date at the end of the night were very cheap to staff
    Yearly bonus
    Subsidised meals
Company gives back to the community (I was paid to plant trees at a local school)
Really lovely management who were willing to invest in your development
A very good part-time job for students

    Cons

    Could be stressful at times
    Sometimes understaffed

    Advice to Management

Don't bully staff into taking extra hours!! I had a major issue with one manager who would ring and guilt me into working 30 hours each week when I was only contracted for 8 and was trying to balance work and studying full time.
