      Pros

I consider myself lucky to be employed by WCC, I didn't particularly think it through when I joined 17 years ago. They have been a great employer to work for and have supported me through some very difficult personal times. They have been very flexible, letting me work around personal circumstances where the business allows it, especially during the Pandemic. I would recommend any parent considering going back to work to apply to the council as they are very family friendly and there is no expectation to work more hours than you're paid for.

      Cons

You don't get paid a huge amount, but you make up for this by the knowledge that you are working for the betterment of others. You have a bit of red tape but this is getting better and is a lot better now than when it was 17 years ago. You don't have huge amounts of resources to work with, you get good at making every penny count and stretch as far as it will.
