Pros

It’s high pressure, so if you enjoy being busy and rolling your sleeves up it’s good

Cons

Lost sight on what made the company grow, which is the people doing the leg work. Freeze on hiring, no salary increases and no progression plans. Everything is for senior management, they’re paid more and to a higher percentile than other employees, and is currently a closed shop. Mediocrity is rewarded, with the hiring freeze hopefully this will mean those not pulling their weight will be found out. Often found myself and my team picking up mess created by other teams, with no consequence for the people dodging their responsibility.

Actively targeting women and minority ethnic staff.

Pros

Staff are caring and considerate of eachother, working together despite current situation.

Cons

Despite celebrating meeting goals (constantly changing for the business), we're wiping out a tenth of our staff with layoffs. Today, a list of names were given. all but TWO were women, most of the women being fired are in our product engineering dept (aka already male-dominated). The redundancy process was hidden from us to likely hide the clear optics that if you're minority ethnic or a woman at wealthify - you're a target for Aviva and Wealthify for cost cutting first and foremost. Oh, and the pay and culture has gone down the gutter.

Pros

You can work from home

Cons

Wealthify is an absolute disaster of a workplace. The company is obsessed with maximising profit at the expense of its employees, completely overlooking hard work and forcing staff to pick up extra work to cover for others. Since the old CEO was suddenly removed with no explanation, everything has gone downhill. The new CEO made patronising comments about how staff should behave at the Christmas party (as if we were children) and banning meeting recordings so his nonsense can’t be held against him. He regularly spams news about other companies struggling in an attempt to gaslight employees into thinking they have it good when in reality, morale is at an all time low. The workplace is riddled with favouritism and politics, where promotions and pay raises have nothing to do with performance and everything to do with sucking up to the right people. They claim there’s an employment freeze, yet somehow, new hires still appear.
