I worked at Weber Shandwick full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice office, happy hour, company culture

    Cons

HUGE turnover in finance department in LA office because of unprofessional, abusive, disrespectful management. You feel constantly under attack. Stress levels are incredibly high and the office environment is toxic. Management of the department is constantly hunting for reasons to find fault in employees, point fingers and shows zero trust. Hard work and long hours are demanded and no matter how hard you work, it is NEVER...

I worked at Weber Shandwick full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Agência bem estruturada, com grandes clientes que podem desafiar a crescer como profissional e bom plano de saúde

    Cons

Remuneração abaixo do mercado, VR baixo para a região da Berrini, localização do escritório

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Weber Shandwick full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Great work environment with a lot of fun, driven people - Benefit package is pretty good. Insurance and 401K matching is at or above industry standard - Top-tier client roster with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to smaller companies that are leaders in their industries - Opportunity to expand your skill set and try new practice areas if you raise your hand and push for the experience

    Cons

    - Work life balance can be tricky. A lot is expected of everyone at all levels and although not explicitly stated employees are always on call - Compensation is not that great. HR recently has started limiting the number of people who are eligible to be promoted and keep reducing the number of times employees can be promoted during the year. This makes it more and more difficult to make staying long-term a viable option...

    Advice to Management

Do a better job compensating your employees for the work they do. You won't be able to attract or keep top talent by holding back employees from promotions when the deserve it and paying so low compared to other agencies.

I worked at Weber Shandwick full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Coffee Big clients Handing in my notice

    Cons

Quite possibly the most inefficient and backwards working environment ever. Incredibly hierarchical, to the point that management creates utterly pointless, resource-wasting work that is demeaning just to ensure anyone 'below' them knows they are viewed as inferior Horrific culture of presenteeism that creates an egg-shell environment. If you leave before 7, you are not working hard enough, if you leave before 9 you...

    Advice to Management

Seriously review why people are handing in their notice every week. Listen to you workforce and implement real action. You need a complete overhaul of your leadership practices and you need to review exactly what work you are doing and how because resources are not being efficiently used. Build those starting their career up, making them feel valued not just the admin juniors. Of course, some admin is unavoidable...

I worked at Weber Shandwick full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good name to have on your CV

    Cons

    - Soul sucking - Long hours and no reward (if you're not working 10+ hours a day then you are not going the extra mile) - Management are not clear or helpful, they bully and intimidate people to get what they want - Lack of support/ training - A lot of bullies, backstabbing and bitchiness - BIG EGOS AND LOUD MOUTHS

    Advice to Management

Sort out your big egos and loud mouths around the office. They are soul destroying and aren't doing the company any good.

I worked at Weber Shandwick full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Generally, people like the teams they work on (it’s usually the main reason why they’re still there) - Used to be a good starting point for your career because it’s a well-known agency, with a long list of big clients and a vast network (I was lucky enough to have had great direct managers in the beginning, which helped a lot) - You get to work on big/well-known clients - VPs/managers generally willing to guide...

    Cons

    - Bad management and lack of good leadership: MD is hardly ever present and doesn’t make a genuine effort to know her people. Worst interaction was when I was yelled at and blamed for a mistake because I was the most junior. - Bad resourcing, resulting in severely overworked individuals: Employees often find that they either can’t do anything about it and therefore, don’t say anything or they voice out and are told...

    Advice to Management

Bring in fresh leadership, that's the only fix. Value and get to know your people, genuinely, and you'll reap the benefits in the long run.
