I worked at Weber Shandwick full-time

    Pros

    - You get to work on huge brands, which look good on your CV and you get great experience. - You get to work with and learn from PR professionals who are the best in the industry. These senior members of staff often host talks and presentations for employees to learn from. - The teams are all very friendly and family-like. - There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in big campaigns and clients, but you often have to go out of your way to get involved - it won't always be handed to you. - 2 x days paid volunteering a year which the company encourages. - There are lots of extras, e.g. if you are getting married, the company will throw you a mini hen-do or stag-do / if you are having a baby, the company will throw you a mini baby shower / around Halloween, there are pumpkin carving competitions / on Valentine's Day you get sweets / at Easter you get an Easter egg / around Christmas you get an advent calendar / you get an extra day off on your birthday. All these small extras make a big difference to company morale and the friendliness of the company. - Inspiring CEO and senior leadership team. - Known for being the friendliest agency of the top 5.

    Cons

    - The kind of company where extroverts thrive, and the louder and very confident employees are often favoured. However if you are this type of person, this will not be a con. - Very middle class and white, though the company is working on improving its diversity. - Pay could be better. It is in line with smaller agencies' salaries, rather than being in line with the other big agencies' salaries.

I worked at Weber Shandwick full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's seen as one of the best public relations agencies in the world, so for your CV it does wonders. There's a lot of opportunity to work with big brands and global teams, which allows you to learn about different cultures and ways of working. Technology team is amazing; so much is thrown at them and they overcome every hurdle.

    Cons

Low pay compared to the rest of the industry, which results in people leaving. Bullying from senior management; you have to be just as combative and accept any moanings that come your way from your line manager. Very sexist; men are bold but women have to be quiet and timid. Turnover is high and it can result in overloaded staff for months on end. Lack of support from other practices within the company.
