Pros

Most of the people are true believers in the mission of public health. Few of them are true believers in the product. If you're a cheerleader who blindly totes the company line, this might be the place for you.

Cons

Supporting features in a product that are not ready for prime time. "Agile" doesn't work when releases are perpetually pushed back and when they are deployed, three or four hot fixes are required to get the client's reqs met. That's best case: a client may purchase a service that doesn't even exist, with sales tap dancing (read: lying) until a working solution gets escalated. Clients: threaten to walk if what was sold to you doesn't even exist in the application or on the ephemeral "road map".

Pros

Good pay. Various events are nice way to encourage camaraderie. There are some genuinely good people at Wellcentive (or at least there used to be).

Cons

Almost all focus is on the future where everything will be wonderful and great - and the present is neglected. No real strategy employed - decisions are made and changed on a whim (not given time to succeed or fail). Management is disinterested and on occasion unprofessional (demotion/promotion took place in a team meeting). Speaking of meetings - there are WAY too many meetings on a daily/weekly basis - the irony of these meetings is that nothing ever gets done. People work through meetings because there isn't enough time during the day to work on things. Nothing is accomplished in meetings because people aren't paying attention because they are working on other things. This is a company in full on sales mode that promotes itself a lot, shows off all the bells and whistles, but lacks the substance to back it up. Peel back the layers and you will discover broken 'teams,' unmotivated employees, and a general lack of direction. Upon closer examination, Wellcentive isn't up to snuff and doesn't pass muster.

Pros

A lot of my co-workers are really fun to be around. The office is really cool.

Cons

I have to agree with both reviews, below, claiming that the company's leaders think they know everything. All too frequently, leaders have such a high opinion of themselves and what they're doing that they don't even bother to see if things can be improved until customers start complaining. To save face, customers are disregarded as being too dumb to use the product appropriately; hence, it's always the customer's fault even when it's not. It would be an understatement to simply say that coordination between divisions in the company could be improved. Benefits, raises, etc are all drastically under par. You might be promoted, but don't come here expecting to grow in salary. It's a bit upsetting that upper management will give themselves big raises when the company is doing poorly.
