    really nice environment, you get to work with people who care not only about the bigger picture but also about the employees

    Good benefits, nice building, good food

    Cons

    Cliquey, wants to be cool but is pretty dated in the way things are done. HR is shambles.

    - Inspiring mission and activities - Friendly, liberal, intelligent colleagues - Well-resourced and financially stable - Great building with gym, bar, and cafeteria, along with Wellcome Collection shop, galleries and library. - Tries to prioritise staff wellbeing, diversity and inclusion - Able to work remotely to an extent depending on role - Staff networks include LGBTQ+, Race Equity, Women, Disability, and Interfaith

    Cons

    - No formally recognised union - Difficult to challenge policies and leadership decisions - Enduring problem with internal progression - Not enough women in senior roles - Not enough BAME representation across all levels - Can be bureaucratic and hierarchical - Huge divide between leadership and the rest of the organisation

    Great experience from hiring to start date, staff willing to help, lots of opportunity to grow inside the Trust, and it is working on important projects for the benefit of everyone. Would recommend.

    Good stipend, Reputation helps carry you for future jobs

    Cons

    Compared to other PhD programmes, the Wellcome Trust PhD programme doesn't offer as much opportunities to grow as a scientist nor does it encourage team bonding within your cohort or other Wellcome students from other institutions

    Loads of exciting projects, inspiring talks and good development opportunities. If you're ambitious it's great place to supercharge your development over a couple of years then move on.

    Cons

    Linear career progression is difficult. Team subcultures vary dramatically which may significantly impact on your experience
