Pros

None. Avoid at all costs.

Cons

Toxic levels of bullying. Senior management seem to have no idea what they are doing and are getting paid a fortune to do nothing while (most) staff work their butts off. No value or respect given to staff, and don't bother complaining to HR because they are in bed with management, and both will lie to cover their tracks. The derogatory, condescending and abusive comments made about staff - to their face and behind their back - is shocking. Widespread mental health issues due to overwork and bullying, staff turnover due to stress is high. Ironic that a supposed mental health organisation continues to do so much damage to its staff.

Pros

There are a small group of people wanting to see genuine change and dedicated to the participants

Cons

I have never in my professional career experienced such demoralising, unprofessional, isolating, toxic bullying behaviour in a workplace. Senior Management run a friendship zone, with bullying tactics and wolf pack mentality of choosing people they like based on their personal lives and not for their competency in the role or contributions to the sector, client or organisation. Senior Management are not open to change, benefiting the business. It is a clique culture, where you are in or you're out. No orientation or induction, first questions on the job included which country was I born in, what is my nationality as opposed to questions about my skill set and how i could contribute to the organisation and a discussion about my role.

Pros

The impact being a part of supporting and advocating for some of the most vulnerable cohort and adversely affected people with severe mental health and/or other issues (AOD) was both career and life changing for me. If this program wasn't lead by (mostly) monkeys - it would have been amazing.

Cons

I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't study in health and community services for most of my adult life, to work for an organisation that values absolutely nothing they apparently stand for regarding the companies overall ethos. I am not a disgruntled ex-emoloyee who left the organisation after one of the most unbelievablely mismanaged, dangerous, toxic and frightening incidents I have ever been a part of. Until recently, and my suspicions were confirmed, I still thought of the 20 participants and several staff I managed in this program, how after said incident, the legal ramifications would have potentially blown the entire organisation out of the NFP water - 3 years after leaving. Please, if you value human beings and want the work and make an impact that changes lives of others in postive way, do not work for this organisation, don't let anyone you know or care for work for these people. From the top to the bottom, this organisation will erode at any hope you have of being a part of something other than an organisation lead by incestious, high functioning drug-users who will protect each other at the risk of ANYONE around them.
