I worked at Willamette Dental Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Benefits because they buy it cheaper through bulk. The company loves newbies.

    Cons

Once a newbie works hard to advance, the company will assign spies to document any minor details and exaggerate them to fire you. The dentist will need to undersell crowns, specialty work, and less frequent hygiene visits. The dentist compensation formula for Press Ganey customer service surveys and patient access to your schedule only benefits the managing dentist. If the mgr dentist does not kiss up, then watch out for spies.

    Pros

Benefits are good. Support departments and continuing education are great.

    Cons

The Owner of the Company runs things as a monarchy and isn't connected to the people that run the offices or departments. He makes snap judgements to promote or fire people, often based on advice he gets from the few in his inner circle who have an agenda to further their own careers by forcing others out. Too many highly intelligent and talented doctors, support staff, managers and administration have left over the past 5 years. The Company is going downhill and is not a healthy environment to work in, whether you're looking at one of the offices or a department at Admin. Staff in the offices are working extremely hard schedules, doctors are working longer than 10 hour days because they are trying to catch up on their charting and training. Managers and Directors are given difficult directives with more and more requirements to pass on to their staff and then they are reprimanded when their employee questionnaire reflects any tone of unhappiness in their office. If the employee survey shows that staff don't trust or respect the senior leaders of the company, the Managers are the ones who are in trouble and are told they should have made the senior leaders look better. The managers and doctors are seen as a way to an end and not appreciated or respected by the owner of the company.

    Pros

I really loved a lot of things about working here. It is a very professional environment and for a long time I felt truly valued by the company.

    Cons

I was no cause let go after over 2 years of employment with perfect job performance reviews. I would not recommend this place to anybody looking for stable long term employment. Management is eager to clean house all the time.

    Pros

Great benefits. Working four days a week is preferable to five...

    Cons

So much micromanagement one can barely breathe! Also, there's a lot of gossip and negativity which goes unnoticed because it's all via the internal IM system. Not great if you already have performance anxiety.
