      Pros

Easy work anyone can do it.

      Cons

They will always push you to take a higher role in the shop ie manager / supervisor of a betting shop which to me i didnt want the added stress and long hours for such low wages , the thought of being the manager and dealing with angry punters and armed robberies for such low wages wasn't even an option , being a cashier is ok you do your job and go home no need to worry about locking up the shop and having to vairy your route home constantly watching out for who maybe watching you or following you. You won't get a lunch break if a customer needs serving you have to stop your break and serve them so no real break at all 🤷. Wages are kept at a minimum as the company obviously need more money .... That's a joke !! They shud pay their staff more to reflect the danger they are in . Also if you have the misfortune of working while the shop is robbed don't expect much sympathy from them they first of all when the police arrive will search YOU just to make sure you didn't steal any of their money yourself as of course the only thing that will be going through your mind while you have a gun pointed at your head is mmmm how can I steal money from William hills 🤦 nope nope nope . They only care about the money not the staff not one bit . And don't expect your manager to work by the book! If they make a mistake they will do anything to get out of it including not putting money in the safe when they are supposed to leading to them not getting up from their chair ( as they are sat down while hiding the money under their bum that is supposed to be in the safe) to deal with a armed robber leaving the poor cashier to deal with an armed man who after all only wants the money 🤷 which you gladly hand over . All in all this type of job is not for the faint hearted angry punters stupid hours in the summer no real breaks and some managers are so young they really have no clue of the real world . Work there knowing YOU WILL GET ROBBED AT GUN POINT , if you are happy to have a gun shoved in your face GO for it ! I'm sure you will have fun. And nope you won't get any compensation from them to ease your suffering that is a MYTH.
