I worked at Worldwide Business Research full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

WBR had ownership for some large industry events with a loyal customer base and great onsite experiences.
The office was only a few minutes walk from London Victoria station.
I reported to a Sales Director with great experience who was passionate about sales and improvement and guided me through effective Sales campaign planning, strategy and execution.
    Quarterly High Performance Bonus
    Internal Management program
    Good Earning Potential

    Cons

The CRM was backwards, slow and unintuitive.(Hopefully you have replaced this now!)
Slow paced environment, some events were sold for 5 months which was the opposite of what I was used to.
Difficult to attract good sales candidates as such a competitive market for the type of outbound sales role.

    Advice to Management

Replace the CRM! Better utilise sales team resources by running a few more events with slightly less lead team for sales as it's hard to maintain motivation on long lead time. Think about employee experience and some innovations in this area! All in all, solid experience.

    Pros

Good location in Victoria, near the tube station, some decent people, opportunity to go to exhibitions overseas which I suppose is a pro.

    Cons

Filthy office, bad management, scruffy people, not very professional, bad contract and no benefits.

Management was passive aggressive and inexperienced, not pleasant place to work.

    Advice to Management

Learn your product and get some management training before dealing with people.

When I was at WBR I got to work on great events with some really fantastic people. Everyone is commercially minded and want to bring the best events possible to market, to allow us to make as much money as possible.
They are keen to give you opportunities if you prove yourself. I got promoted and more than one payrise whilst I was there.

    Pros

WBR has an extremely supportive and positive environment. The vibe is young and energetic - it is fast paced and has an extremely supportive management system with regular meetings to monitor progress. I started out within the Sales team where my Divisional Head went above and beyond to help pursue my goals and I am now working within the Customer Service Department which is also a really great environment to be in. Sales department is for the determined and persistent - some days are harder than some (as in all sales roles!) but being a rapidly growing company they are consistently smashing goals due to the supportive head management team. The company in general has a great culture and vibe. They value each individual's strengths and help to support and develop weaknesses into strengths. I would highly recommend it!

    Cons

None that I can think of!
