I worked at Worley for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Excellent career opportunities for those who demonstrate ambition and competence, - Internal training - external training if budgets allowed. - Creative graduate development programs - Great work/life balance with flexible working hours, a variety of social events to choose from, and prior to recent company re-structuring (and associated cut-backs) our office had a gym and was enrolled in a corporate decathlon. - High degree of value placed on safety and risk assessments.

    Cons

    - Decreasing project portfolio - Increased pressure on senior management

I worked at Worley full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Promotes good work life balance. The individuals work well as a team. Great travel opportunities, when there is the work.

    Cons

Lack of direction, and an always done it like this attitude. A lot of the old guard need to be spoon fed and are not self starters. Creativity suffers.

I have been working at Worley full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I'm really struggling to think of anything that WorleyParsons offers that than is even slightly better than average. Perhaps work-life balance is on par with the competition.

    Cons

The company has managed the downturn very badly and it feels like a bit of sinking ship. Not winning work so future prospects are poor. When they do win works it tends to be the dregs, or they land themselves in hot water by failing to do sufficient due diligence and agreeing to deliver far more than they're capable of doing. Little value given to employee. Minimal prospects for development and training due to costs. Average to low salaries. Poor benefits. Below par pension offering. Poor communication. Rather infuriating tendancy to try and pretend that everything is just fine and sweep anything negative under the carpet.

    I worked at Worley

    Pros

Great work/life balance, lots of intelligent minds to learn from and perm/contract staff are treated equally. Great project to work on (TANAP) and team to work with. Excellent TANAP project manage in the GIS team, great guy to work with.

    Cons

My manager had just been given the job because the other manager went on to maternity leave. He was terrible, I'd say 80% of the team knew more about the work and management then he did. I don't think I've worked with management quite like it. After a while he moved to another floor to the entire team's relief and we were able to do our jobs without being told to do it the wrong way, then go back and fix it (happened frequently). there were a lot of bully's in the office as well, a few inparticular had complaints made against them for bullying, harassment and racism. The return comments from management and HR were that they needed these people and couldn't get rid of them, so we'd all have to just deal with it and they'd make sure they "have a word". This happened a number of times and much of the team left because of it. The project was hard as were the 60+ hour weeks.
