I have been working at XMA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I get to work with passionate, dedicated people within a new focus for XMA. The management team that I have worked with since July, bring with them a wide breadth of experience and I can say that everyday within my role I feel supported and genuinely looked after. For anyone looking to join as an Account Manager, you will be given the tools to do what you need to do. With realistic targets and training you can make...

I worked at XMA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    * No weekend work (although you WILL be expected to manage an inbox receiving around 800 emails every day so kiss goodbye to your evenings if you want to keep your head above water; this being XMA's definition of being "flexible") * FREE water * FREE car park * At face value, a reasonable basic salary (£27k for Internal Account Manager's). Be wary though, to get anywhere near your monthly target (and commission)...

    Cons

    * Tantamount to zero communication between each department * No processes to follow * Convoluted order processing system (JBA) which isn't integrated with their CRM (quotes are prepared on basic Excel spreadsheets) * Outbound call KPI's to develop new business accounts and grow existing - fighting a losing battle. Spend two hours per day on the phone and you'll fall four hours behind with inbound emails or demanding...

    Advice to Management

    * Invest in your loyal people who can do the job and are your biggest asset * Cut middle management * Decide on a USP that doesn't rely on shifting 50,000 cheap and nasty Viglen units per year

I have been working at XMA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good team of people who want to drive the company forward. Senior management have taken a long hard look at the company and are committed to change and it shows. A huge amount is being put into training and development and IT systems. Lots of opportunities to learn and develop.

    Cons

It is till a bit “no frills” on the company benefits. Hopefully this will be addressed in the near future!

I have been working at XMA full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I am just about to start my third month at XMA, and so far it has been an excellent experience. After a jarring time at my previous place of work, XMA has so far allowed me to build back up my confidence in myself through the management and leadership at the company. They have given me all of the tools I need to become a success in Sales such as company induction, systems and technical training, and most importantly –...

    Pros

    You will be paid!

    Cons

Within my first week of starting I didn’t have any formal training it was up to me to approach the team I was alligned to whom couldn’t be asked to help as they had to hit unreasonable targets. You will be sold a dream however no account base or lead generation to work from. Be pushed to sell a product no one in the channel has heard of. Unless you had a sense of humour which finds sexism, racism and the occasional c*nt...

    I worked at XMA full-time

    Pros

Friendly and professional frontline workforce, decent banter Comprehensive supplier relationships

    Cons

Morally repugnant treatment by the Management of Account Manager's Unattainable targets regardless of individual endeavour Bloated middle/senior management Pathetic morale No commission paid to my entire desk in six months Non-apparent training on internal systems or products Constant warnings from the hierarchy despite personal performance Invest too much time in the wrong Tenders No account handover from colleague...

    Advice to Management

Spread the wealth; pay commission where it's due Set realistic targets If your best idea to increase revenues is "asset tagging", you're delusional Revolutionise your incompetent Sales Support/Customer Service facility Improve Projects and improve on-site engineer services and you might actually sell some Run incentive schemes if you're not paying commission

I have been working at XMA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice colleagues that's pretty much as good as it gets I'm afraid

    Cons

Too many to list, but sheer incompetence covers most areas. No offerings services or resource. Light years behind the competition. Employ "big hitters" on fat salaries...who actually end up doing something different to what their previous experience would suggest.....more pay offs than the mafia once people realise that whatever is suggested.......if it means investment the computer says no.

    Advice to Management

Look in the mirror .....your structure and behaviour are appalling......never seem such a turn over of staff in my life. I wouldn't recommend XMA to my worst enemy as a place to work

I worked at XMA for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people there are very friendly and it's a nice location. I worked there as an account manager in 2011 and it was a laid back atmosphere if you where on target! They where never to unrealistic! It was a great place to work and everyone got on well! There where good opportunities for progression here.

    Cons

can't think of any! It was a good environment to work for but I think the basic rate of pay could have been better!
