Pros
1. Highly competent colleagues in all departments. 2. Flat hierarchy, CEOs are approachable and thoughtful. 3. Unbelievably good employee care - not just the usual pool table, gym, free food etc. but considerate and useful stuff like generous paternity policies, 24/7 private GP access - they really couldn't make life any easier for you and your family. 4. Underlying business is in rocket ship growth mode. Much more fun than a mature steady-state firm. 5. Because headcount is small and the business huge/growing, you'll get to build and do lots of interesting stuff - you're not the 30,000th engineer at a FANG building a slightly better emoji predictor. 6. Plenty of opportunity to learn, colleagues are world-class experts in every area of electronic trading. 7. Strong culture of ethics. Not just the usual corporate stuff. Definitely a place where people aim to do the right thing by clients and the wider community. 8. Kings Cross office. As well as the office itself being super nice, the location is great in terms of offering you lots of good places to live and get to the office easily.
Cons
1. The company's focus is deep but narrow: electronic trading. Compared to a bank or consumer tech firm there's way less breadth but far more depth. Whether that suits your career will be a personal thing. 2. Small headcount and flat hierarchy makes traditional aspects of career progression hard/impossible; if you want to improve your effectiveness in running a big teams this isn't the place.
