I have been working at YETI Coolers full-time

    Pros

Discounts. Nice office space. Friendly people.

    Cons

If you look at all of the Outfitter reviews and sort them from oldest to newest, you can see the decline over time in the happiness of the team. There is something not working with the current structure of the team and there aren’t too many people willing to voice their opinions or their concerns without fear of some sort of repercussion. Growth is inevitable, but there are a ton of folks being left behind. The... tiered management of this team is a tight knit group that seems to rally more than jump in the trenches. This style is allowing for a lack of support to the largest group in the company that is already running on low numbers. Being an Outfitter used to give a sense of pride and take away the fact that working in a call center was reality. Now it’s a call center that just happens to have an amazing view and everyone around you is mentally drained and hoping for even a minute to breathe. I recommend anyone curious to shadow an Outfitter. Sit there for a few hours and observe the amount of tasks in place and how the structure of this team doesn’t set any Outfitter up for success. Leave your phone and laptop closed and get a legit feel of the work. How is being asked to ‘full steam ahead’ for 8 hours while your supervisors and managers walk around or gather at a desk to talk about personal stuff supposed to motivate anyone? Outfitters need guidance or new people. This team can do great things when guided by someone willing to work in their favor and someone willing to do the work with them when times get tough. Please help this team feel better about the hard work done everyday to make customers for life. This company is amazing and Outfitters deserve to be apart of it outside of phone calls and emails. The culture has shifted and it doesn’t have to.

    Pros

Decent pay Good discounts Good restaurants near the office

    Cons

This place is not what it seems. Managers play favorites and do not even try to cover it up. They will treat some people like gods and others like dirt and still claim that they try to be fair. Women who are attractive are given special treatment by the male managers. Crazy amount of micromanaging as well. Managers do nothing all day but goof around with each other and watch what you are doing all day. They can’t... make up their mind if they want you to give every customer a great experience or get done with them quickly to move on to the next caller. No sick time, you have to use PTO. Management will get on to you about not showing up early every day and staying late, and at the same time get on to you about doing too much over time. You will be asked to work through your lunch constantly. No work life balance at all. They say this department is a good starting point and you can move anywhere in the company, but people only move in to sales and other departments won’t even look at you. Company culture is very corporate and a lot of politics go on, despite them claiming to be cool and relaxed. Barely any diversity. Stay away

    Cons

A lot of unpaid overtime on evenings and weekends. Remuneration not on par with similar jobs especially taking into account extra hours.

    Pros

Great active culture, friendly people, great location

    Cons

Toxic work ethics scaring away talent, within a few months of me starting work, half the team left. Employees berating employees, when you mention it to management, they suggest you should have just endured being cussed out. Won't make as much money. If you leave before 5pm, you will be reprimanded, even if you came in at 7am. Absolutely NO flexibility to life events such as family emergencies. If you aren't at work..., it's unacceptable, even if a family member is seriously ill.

    Advice to Management

If your team has gone from 8 to 1 in the past year, there is likely a reason: Bad management, from day to day managers all the way up to the CTO.

I worked at YETI Coolers full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Competitive pay and benefits with room to pivot because of the company's growth.

    Cons

No diversity and inclusion initiatives. YETI is the most homogenous workplace I have worked in. It's still another version of a Boy's Club that is not invested in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. Management was not transparent with changes in operations and reviews.

    Advice to Management

Invest in D&I internally, in the Ambassadors program, and in marketing materials Offer more training for employees

    Pros

Pay and benefits are great (typical of a start-up/small organization)

    Cons

Have to be a “favorite” to move up or around in the organization.

I have been working at YETI Coolers full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great hiring process. Strong company culture and core values. Talented folks in all departments. Plenty of perks: On-campus Cafe and Cafeteria subsidized, complimentary Gear garage rental for anything from kayaks to coolers, campus store, a very well equipped gym, and more. Full suite of benefits, and 401k/stock options.

    Cons

YETI does not offer any paternity leave!

    Advice to Management

YETI is a great company to work for. In a competitive landscape like Austin, having attractive hiring incentives are important especially for young professionals that are looking to grow their careers and families. Paternity leave is a huge benefit left off the table. Hopefully, that changes soon!

    Pros

The people are amazing. Some of the best I have ever met. The foundation of YETI is rooted in their Core Values but are agile and driven to improve every day. I have learned so much from my time here and it still feels like we are at the beginning of this great ride.

    Cons

YETI is fast paced and has high expectations. Not a con if you are up for the challenge but it certainly is not a place to just come and put in the hours. They expect each and every one of us to make YETI stronger.

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on your people. They will take care of YETI nation.

I have been working at YETI Coolers full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get the opportunity to represent the YETI brand, which is undoubtedly the strongest in the Outdoor Lifestyle industry. This translates into easy sales, and foreseeable company growth. The office building is great, and the benefits outside compensation are generous. Some of the friendliest coworkers you'll have the opportunity to work with.

    Cons

ZERO work life balance - very little direction - constant change in "sprints" - poor compensation structure for company revenue drivers - capital hill of office politics - little authenticity to core brand

    Advice to Management

Understand all aspects of the business, and provide infrastructure for employees to prosper. Open your door and allow YETIzens to be HEARD. When recommendations or suggestions for process improvements are shared, understand that those are being voiced for a reason. STOP bringing in inexperienced contractors and focus on HR/Talent initiatives that will source QUALIFIED SMEs to manage teams and vertical business units... within those divisions. You lose your culture when you forget about the people, and it has become very evident that the employee's voice has no meaning. DO NOT expect me to be happy in my position when being asked to stay until 8-9PM. This is a talltale sign that something needs to change, and more focus is needed to alleviate the strain on your employees. Enjoy the excitement and buzz that the newest YETIzens bring as it will fade fast, just as it has for me.
