      Pros

Can get to work relatively fast, from application to start.

      Cons

They do not keep maintenance of trailers, they drag their feet on workers comp claims, do not fully pay into pension so that upper management can keep their bonuses, They claim union rates but basically pay the lowest wages in the LTL industry.

      Pros

Good pay, benefits, and if you like social activities outside of work.

      Cons

Upper management doesn't listen to employee recommendations and are cooking the books to make EOY look better. Laying off corporate employees to add to their numbers.

      Pros

The team members are great to work with! If you don’t have a lot of Sales experience so cannot get hired at a better Freight company then you can get good experience here.

      Cons

They do don’t care about their employees or customers! They will step over a dollar to save a nickel. Continually lose customers and employee because they just don’t care and think customers and employees are very replaceable. Work life balance is horrible. To much time taking us away from our territory with the same monotonous conference call and meetings. They pay the lowest in the industry. If you have experience don’t work here. Upper management is the good old boys club no women. VP’s maybe one if that director. The fellow employees make it worth it and the customers are great. Just constantly trying to keep them when the service fails. Disconnect between operations and corporate.

      STAY AWAY FROM YRC

Aug 1, 2019 - Dock Worker in Chicago, IL

      Pros

I have been working at YRC Freight for 3 months, what a mistake - I am searching for other employment... nothing good about working here.

      Cons

YRC Freight treats workers terribly and the management team micromanages us. YRC is very frugal with their funds - we get paid the lowest of all freight companies - truck drivers get between $18-$22/hour, reps earn near minimum wage perhaps because YRC stock price is around 3.00 per which is crazy low (bad upper management) - they have a Market Cap of about $105M but owe about $1.2B. It just seems like they are going out of business soon. Very low morale and big separation between the union and management.

      Pros

Worked with a lot of hard working, dedicated folks....

      Cons

Disorganized upper management, no support from management, no balance, house on fire management sales mentality, unethical policies on refusing to pay commissions after you've left, sour culture....

There's usually plenty of work and overtime available, but there plenty of room for improvement, too.

      Pros

Overtime after 8 hours of work based upon seniority. Very flexible hours with 3 main shifts available. As long as you're honest the management team will stick up for you.

      Cons

Junk equipment, upper management takes plenty of bonuses while demanding cuts in employees wages. More than half the fleet would not pass a D.O.T inspection.
