I have been working at Yorkshire Building Society Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people I work with are a big reason I have remained at the group for so long. We strive to give the customer the best experience as possible.

    Cons

Continuous change doesn't allow for any sustainable progress and very hard to keep up given the organisation's size.

    Advice to Management

Think about how changes at board level impact the people on the shop floor.

    Pros

    Large company
A range of job roles and opportunities

    Cons

    Underhanded management techniques
Poor handling of salaries of long term staff
Lots of talk about getting opinions and feedback to act on and it's evidenced as simply lip service.
A toxic environment for well being.
Difficult to get support and development to be able to progress in the company or elsewhere, you get stuck.

    Advice to Management

Consider if your culture really does pour from a top down approach and your ground staff are getting it right, why does it do so wrong in the middle.

I worked at Yorkshire Building Society Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Cons

No training (sink or swim environment), no professional qualifications, 10 years out of date, terrible pay structure way out of line with rest of industry, rubbish communication, limited staff due to change and replaced with contractors-surely not cost effective?

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your staff and allow them to develop and grow. Because if not, you'll lose what you've got left.
