I worked at Yorkshire Building Society Group full-time

    Pros

Free parking at Head Office Nice working space Welcoming staff It used to be a great place to work but now feels like a sinking ship. Ive never worked in a place so negative with undervalued staff, mental health worries are high.

    Cons

Continuously under restructure so very unstable work environment. They are not willing to fight for their loyal well experienced staff they once had. Job descriptions are not reflective of the actual work, especially in Financial Crime/Risk. Senior management do not take kindly to opinions even when asked for, it feels like they need to give lip service. No continuity or stability of role. Lack of training. Extremely...

I have been working at Yorkshire Building Society Group full-time

    Pros

Colleague support Bonus Flexible working pattern Senior Partners are approachable

    Cons

Ill-disciplined and unbalanced middle management Childish office environment Old fashioned mentality

    Advice to Management

Office managers do not lead by example; playing on phones, choosing favourites and therefore insulating others and being dishonest. Seniors partners unfortunately are not aware of the zoo like mentality that has adopted the office.

I worked at Yorkshire Building Society Group full-time

    Pros

There are none because of bullying.

    Cons

Managers do not care how they treat staff, they bully and intimidate. Awful place to work, where bullies are employed. When they bully and intimidate you, they expect you to be cheerful in the work place. After they have harrassed you, for everything you say and do, they give you a sales pitch on well being. I have been working at Yorkshire Building Society Group full-time for more than 19 years

    Pros

The people I work with are a big reason I have remained at the group for so long. We strive to give the customer the best experience as possible.

    Cons

Continuous change doesn't allow for any sustainable progress and very hard to keep up given the organisation's size.

    Advice to Management

Think about how changes at board level impact the people on the shop floor.
