I worked at Your Housing Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Unfortunatly no pros come to mind

    Cons

The department is ruled by an iron fist and micro management is huge. Staff are not allowed to use their own initative and coping with the day to day stress of the job is overwhelming. Pointless training which serves no purpose and is very childish. You can vertually never take your leave when you need to as they are always short staffed and have a very high volume of calls. Everything is on this companies terms. I was told once by my team leader that the high staff turnaround is due to the nature of the industry.....yeah right. I stuck the job out for 18 months listerning to vile language and verbal abuse from frustrated tenants and management who constantly change rules and procedures to suit the occasion so nobody really has a clue about anything. I can honestly say it was sole distroying and mentally draining. It is the worst company that i have ever worked for and by a very long shot.

    Pros

Agile working. Great people in the compliance team and other areas. They provide you with all the correct equipment to do the job properly. Really enjoyed my time there. My manager was really supportive, but it ended with him. Was gutted to leave a good team and regret it, but we live by our mistakes.

    Cons

A lot of higher management change, temp senior roles and hatchet men brought in making the environment hostile at times. Pretty much an annual restructure. All in all, get some stability in senior management and support from that level and people would have been happy.

    Pros

Nice office, some great people trying to turn things around

    Cons

senior management are too far removed from reality and don’t seem to care enough about staff morale . Yes the company offers flexible working but that’s not the be and end all. People policies are too rigid and it feels like HR are the tail wagging the dog .
