I worked at ZF TRW full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Easy work, paid-breaks, 8 hour shifts, some over-time.

    Cons

Unprofessional atmosphere, Rude co-workers, lazy supervisors

    Advice to Management

If you have rules in place they should apply to everyone. To provide a professional atmosphere and structure on the shop floor the rules shouldn't change based on race, sex, or age. I witnessed drinking alcohol on shop floor and women who were close to their supervisors get away with everything they wanted too. I refused to be flirtatious with all the old men and minded my own business. There were times I was the... only one working because the other woman were off messing around.

I have been working at ZF TRW full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They hire anyone so if you need factory experience, this is a good place to start. If you are a good worker, management will notice but they also take advantage of it. Pretty laid back and easy work.

    Cons

Work/personal life is non-existent. Doing 19 on (sometime 10-12 hour days are mandatory) makes it very difficult to do even mundane daily tasks. The company itself is very unorganized which makes for a very chaotic work environment. The company does not care about you, you are just a number. Very close to the lowest paying factory even with the Union so always short staffed which puts more pressure on the employees... that are actually sticking around.

    Advice to Management

Reward good employees in other ways than pay since that is not possible due to Union contract.

    I worked at ZF TRW

    Pros

Union security based off of seniority along with good benefits. Overtime was based on working more than 8 hours a day or coming in on Saturday instead of working more than 40 along with double pay Sunday's and triple pay for holidays. You also apply for other positions in house.

    Cons

Very little training to none and very inconsistent rule following. Standards seem to drop on rushed orders and employees don't appear to be held to the same standards. Two employees will miss work yet just one employee signs the attendance sheet.

    Advice to Management

Paperwork needs to be more diligently. The lines need accurate information for their paperwork and better human resources employees.

Ability to move around and bid for different jobs and or hours is a plus. Having a union is also a great benefit.

    Cons

19 days in a row is rough.
