    I worked at Zego full-time

    Pros

Great starting salary for juniors. Great people to work with, loads of perks (snacks, coffee, fruit + other usual startup gear). You are given a lot of freedom to do your job and the environment challenges you to do your best. The company is in hyper growth and you really have to up your game to stay with other employees.

    Cons

At the time of my employment contractual benefits were not great. No private healthcare or paternity/maternity packs or similar to attract senior (or long term) employees. You are told it's flexi work, but this really depends on what team you are working in.

I have been working at Zego full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Zego so far. The people and culture are both amazing, and whilst the engineering and data orgs have seen a lot of changes over the past 6 months, much of the change has been for the better. I genuinely enjoy coming to work.

    Cons

Zego is a growth-stage startup, which comes with its challenges. Hiring is constant, taking up time in interviews and onboarding (it is definitely worth it though!) and I have moved office 3 times and desk about 12 since joining.

I have been working at Zego full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Excellent culture which is supported by people who aren't afraid to challenge the status-quo and get involved with senior leadership in shaping Zego and suggesting the direction where the company is heading in. Individuals communicate well in general, and we use pretty modern and easy-to-use tooling to get work done. There's office dogs. Benefits include free snacks, quarterly team socials, quarterly massages, personal therapy sessions, annual company socials. On the tech side, the work is rewarding and feels like you're always contributing something valuable. Additionally, there's plenty of room to grow and learn new languages and concepts, as well as cementing an understanding of the insurance industry.

    Cons

Could be some slightly better benefits like having a gym membership. Direction of work can be a bit fragmented as of March 2020 which is due mainly to the organisation growing so quickly and trialing new processes to be put in place.

I have been working at Zego full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They are building something from the ground up, if you are able to find your part in that, its a great opportunity to grow and develop with the company.

    Cons

Not a massively brand in tech, sometimes can be limited by the salaries that we are able to offer, however shares are available, but unfortunately that does not mean too much for people looking for a higher base salary.

    Pros

Strong business and working in an industry where Zego can really add value Strong and experienced leadership team Great working culture; place to really accelerate your career and be challenged Focus on mental wellbeing, and collaboration

    Cons

It's a start up so things move and change quickly. This is also a pro!

I have been working at Zego full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A lot to be done and the autonomy to get on and deliver what we need. High sense of trust and awareness of what is going on throughout the business.

    Cons

Fast growth means evolving structure. Would not recommend to someone who needs rigidity.

I have been working at Zego full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Freedom to explore new ideas - Selfless team, no arrogance at all - Disrupting a huge market, very interesting challenge - Team are smart, hardworking and respectful of each others skills - Office has a great buzz

    Cons

    - We're growing really quickly so it's hard to keep up with new starters! - Internal communication could be better sometimes(around new products etc)

I have been working at Zego full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Zego offers plenty of opportunities to step up and shine. Zego is very ambitious, which provides all sorts of unique challenges, from the process to product implementations, both technical products and insurance products. Very friendly cultural and great at making people feel welcome. It has been a great place to work out, and I have gained so much experience that I never thought I would have been exposed too.

    Cons

Lacking senior developers and managers that can offer guidance. Insurance is complex which intern makes the systems complex and can be very intimidating to work on the codebase. All the people that work and Zego beleive in it, and with time im sure, these issues will be resolved. Its all part of the pains that come with growth.
