I have been working at Zopa full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Leadership is experienced and understands how to balance being customer centric with building a sustainable/profitable business. Most banks get this balance wrong. - Everyone you work with will be friendly, competent and reasonable, which leads to an excellent culture. It's common to make friends you can see outside of work. - Stretch projects, opportunities to develop and movements between teams are available. - Decisions are made based on data/evidence, and the business has the right infrastructure to allow this. - Good work life balance.

    Cons

    - Some processes are more bureaucratic than they need to be. - The way some teams were structured led to context switching for technical staff.

I have been working at Zopa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Most people are friendly Flexible working Free food and drinks Company meeting

    Cons

Underwriting has a very toxic work culture, constant changes and power tripping, move departments constantly if low on work, very little to no actual underwriting (it’s basically just checking documents) rude team leaders who take everything personally, unrealistic targets (basically want you to do hours of overtime to hit target) underwriters have to basically beg to go to the company meeting when most other teams just get up and go, underwriting environment to work in is every different to the rest of the company which is lovely

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Zopa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good collaborative culture. Fast-paced, and able to deliver on initiatives relatively quickly. Leadership is analytically focused and willing to consider suggestions. Sensible view to controls —may not always get the balance right between managing risk and creating too much red tape, but management is listening and making changes if supported by reason. Good work/life balance

    Cons

Priorities/ processes sometimes unclear Sometimes dithering on decisions
