I have been working at dunnhumby full-time for less than a year

    Pros

With the introduction of a new CEO and CTO, particularly from the tech and science side, there has been and continues to be significant change. Technology roles are highly valued and there seems to be a genuine desire to recruit and retain top quality talent. Changes in role profiles are underway and making the path for progression much clearer. The work is still under way but once again, there is seemingly a genuine...

    Cons

Change can bring discomfort. The company aren't there quite yet with everything they want to achieve. Some times it can feel a little disorganised and disjointed, though this is the effect of rapid growth and is offset by healthy attitudes to bringing about positive change.

    Advice to Management

Get your organisation structure, team structures, job profiles and progressions embedded quickly to minimise disruption.

I worked at dunnhumby full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Early finish Fridays and smart analysts/data scientists

    Cons

Dunnhumby is a place consisting of two kinds of people. These are the 'talkers' and the 'doers'. Those that do difficult, challenging work and make things happen are more often than not overlooked when it comes to progression. Dunnhumby is highly political where high visibility is a requirement to progress. This leads to most people preferring to raise their profile with a small number of people doing actual work.

    Advice to Management

Start rewarding the people who are critical to the business. The highly talented analysts/data scientists. Otherwise you will lose skilled people to companies who value them.

I worked at dunnhumby full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Early finish Fridays and ability to work from home

    Cons

Managers tend to promise career progressions (and other things) that never happen, then, when employees are fed up and ask when these promises will materialize, managers come up with all sorts of silly excuses. Meritocracy is not part of the company's DNA and dunnhumby is not a company to be trusted. Think twice before investing your time at dunnhumby

    Advice to Management

    Stop lying, seriously!
