The sad thing is there are so many cons I don't even know where to start. During your interview you are told, promised if you will, certain things which draw you in, yet those things never happen. You are asked if you mind working some overtime, well the reality is you will work 10 hours almost every day. As a salaried employee you are still responsible for clocking in and out, this includes smoke breaks. If you work three ten hour days and then take an extra ten minutes for lunch you will get asked about that; even though you are salary. If you chose to accept a position be prepared to work a minimum of 60 hours a week.
Managment has a horrible habit of talking down to employees and it is done openly, never in a private more professional manner. If you make one mistake you will be basically black listed. Once you have shown you are human and make an error you will forever be labled as a slacker, loser and not a team player. When an employee leaves, either voluntarily or involuntarily, management talks negatively about that employee for weeks after the fact. The only way to ensure you aren't talked about is to never make a mistake, never try to leave and better yourself and keep your nose up managements butt. The further up their butt you are the further you will go.
Payday is on the 15th and last day of the month but you are paid with a paper check. This check is held until 5 pm on payday to ensure employees work all day that day. On most payday's you have to repeatedly ask for you check. With that being said, most banks close at 5 therefore you technically don't have access to your funds until the next business day that the banks are open. So if it's a friday and your bank isn't open Saturday you can't access funds until Monday, meaning technically you aren't paid on time.
Your emails, IM's and phone calls are monitored. This provides a means of ammo for them to let you go and refuse to pay you unemployment. If hired be very selective in what you say in any form of communication while at work because it will come back to haunt you no matter how innocent. Sadly, you can't trust anyone there.
There is a very high rate of turnover (lots of layoffs or employees run as soon as they have an offer) which makes it hard to have any sort of proper procedures in place. There are no real training materials and yet you are expected to do anything and every thing asked as soon as you sit down day one.
