From intern to full time employee, meet Caitlyn White, Associate License Renewal Engineer. Since starting with #ENERCON, Caitlyn has made a major impact in Engineering America's Energy Transition with our Nuclear Services Group supporting the license renewal process. Her journey with ENERCON began through repeat internships, where she balanced her studies before transitioning into a full-time role on our team. “In a short time, Caitlyn has made meaningful contributions across several high-impact projects, including supporting NRC reviews, assisting with implementation planning following license renewals, and contributing to complex SLRA development efforts for multiple stations,” shared Tristen Hunnewell, ENERCON’s Associate Manager, License Renewal.
ENERCON and POND are coming together to help clients solve their most complex power, infrastructure, and mission-critical challenges. Together, we bring expanded nuclear, power, data center, and infrastructure expertise, a deeper technical bench, and more end-to-end delivery capability across the full project lifecycle — from strategy and studies through design, implementation, and long-term asset support. For our clients, this means the same trusted relationships, now supported by broader capabilities, integrated teams, and greater depth in the environments where certainty, safety, and technical accountability matter most. One team. More capability. More ways to deliver.
At this year’s Data Center World AFCOM in Washington, D.C., many voices helped shape the conversation, but a few truly stood out. Among them was ENERCON’s Brandie Lea Williams, whose experience reflects the real-world impact of innovation, collaboration, and forward-thinking strategy in today’s data center landscape. In this short video, our Senior Manager, Business Development shares her perspective from the event floor, highlighting the conversations, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of our industry. From evolving infrastructure demands to the importance of partnerships, her insights reinforce why staying connected to both technology and people is critical. Watch the video below to hear directly from Brandie and see how these moments are translating into meaningful progress for our customers and our team.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Arlington Capital Partners ("Arlington") Announces Acquisition of ENERCON, a specialized engineering firm with a focus on nuclear and other highly regulated power end markets. As part of this transaction, ENERCON will merge with Arlington portfolio company Pond & Company (“POND”), a full-service design and engineering firm providing regulatory-driven, highly technical services to the federal government and customers across the energy industry. A leader in power and energy engineering with broad capabilities, national reach, and more than 2,700 professionals, the combined company will operate under the ENERCON name and the existing leadership team from both POND and ENERCON, with Atlanta-area headquarters.
AI data centers, social demands, modern energy sources, increased technology requirements – reliable energy is non-negotiable and utilities across the country are overhauling their grid to create a smarter, more reliable, modern system. There are large, tangible benefits for both utilities and their customers. Here are five benefits of a modern distribution grid:
As a leader in engineering design for the energy sector, our subject matter experts are actively supporting clients and professional organizations. To learn more about activities for improving the grid, follow Gary Clark, PE, MEM, Director of Transmission Line Engineering for more information about the important work at IEEE PES Insulated Conductors Committee.
If you're in Chicago next week, join ENERCON's Sami Syed to learn more about the issues and solutions facing data centers and the infrastructure needed to meet this growing market. Sami will be speaking on a panel focused on these issues at BuiltWorlds's Chicago Global Summit April 14th through the 16th. See you there!
ENERCON Engineers David Wall, Seun Olumurewa, EIT, and Caitlyn White recently volunteered at Abney Elementary’s STEM Night, sharing their time and expertise to inspire young problem solvers. During the event, students participated in an engineering challenge using just a sheet of paper and four paperclips to build a bridge that could span a 20-centimeter gap and hold as many nickels as possible within two minutes. The record? 105 nickels! While this was certainly impressive, the biggest takeaway was watching students embrace the engineering process. When some bridges failed after only a few nickels, students eagerly reworked their designs, showing perseverance and an authentic engineering mindset. “It was a really great event where young kids were able to think quickly and problem-solve,” said David Wall. “It was a joy seeing young minds work to solve a problem, and I’m really glad I was able to be a part of it. It also got me thinking about how to introduce STEM and problem-solving to my young daughters.” Events like this reflect ENERCON’s commitment to giving back and supporting our communities. Thank you to our team members who continue to volunteer their time and make a meaningful difference.
Happy Engineers Week! This week, we’re celebrating the brilliant minds who turn ideas into reality — our incredible ENERCON engineers.
