We’re calling ‘Time Out’! We have just launched some new benefits designed to give colleagues more flexibility and time away from the office to do the things they love. These include two new ‘Hiscox days’ for colleagues to use in addition to their annual leave entitlement to celebrate something special to them, a four week paid sabbatical every five years and the opportunity to buy an extra week of holiday from 2023.
In line with our values, we’re proud to announce a new Hiscox ownership grant, giving all current permanent employees shares in the business. Called HSX:26 – after our stock exchange ticker and 2026, the year the shares will vest – it is given in recognition of the continued hard work and commitment of our people and the valuable contributions they make to the success of Hiscox.

Today, the SMI has published a ‘Sustainable Products and Services Showcase’ – a useful summary of insurance products which help support our customers through the transition to a greener, net zero future. Our 2021 Climate Report, shows another year of progress in how we consider (and look to limit) our environmental impact – the ‘E’ in ESG. In underwriting and investments, we’ve committed to reduce steadily, and eventually eliminate, our exposure to areas including thermal coal, oil sands, and Arctic energy exploration (starting in the ANWR region). We’ve also signed up to the UN-convened Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), demonstrating our commitment to responsible investing, and have supported conservation and biodiversity as part of our total charitable donations last year of $9 million.

A big Hiscox welcome to our 2021 graduates! They have finished a busy induction week in which our grads have had the chance to learn about the business, the insurance industry and to get to know each other.
