    10 whole years of Just Eat Italia, wow! What a busy decade. Looking back, it’s hard not to imagine this level of success for the team. What began as modestly hosting 200 restaurants in the first year, and registering 2000 orders in the first month, has flourished into the thriving market leader they are today with over 24,000 restaurant partners.     Just Eat Takeaway.com are working towards reducing plastic waste from food packaging. We’ve been rolling out reusable packing trials and innovations across the globe, such as Notpla, Club Zero, and REBOWL. We now have another to add to the mix, introducing PackBack - a solution for our JET Amsterdam colleagues to ask for a reusable packing option from participating restaurants. PackBack provides a reusable packaging service via reusable food containers for the food delivery market. The containers are more sustainable than most biodegradable and plastic food packaging, even after it has been used seven times! Their app-based platform can also track and circulate the reusable packaging, so you know where it’s coming from and going to.

    We're delighted to announce that Just Eat UK is creating more than 1,500 new customer service jobs in Sunderland over the next 12 months. We're investing more than £100m into the region across the next five years which will go towards creating a new state of the art office, equipment and comprehensive training for our new team. The new office space, measuring at 20,000 square metres, is based in the heart of Sunderland and will be equipped with a gym, catering area and a lounge. Employees will begin working from home with plans to operate a hybrid model in the coming months. All of our new customer service employees will take part in a bespoke and comprehensive training programme and will benefit from longer-term career development plans to enable them to build relevant skills and progress within the business. It's been fantastic to work with InvestSundUK and Sunderland City Council on this new endeavour which will further cement Just Eat as the market leader for food delivery.
