Today, Wednesday 16th February 2022, M&S has announced it is investing in its people and increasing its hourly rate of pay, with every store colleague across the UK set to earn at least £10 an hour, as part of a broader reward package.
We've announced a strong trading performance over the Christmas period, demonstrating our improvements to product and value. Our focus on everyday style helped Clothing & Home grow for the second successive quarter and our Food business continues to outperform the market. M&S customers are coming to us for more of their everyday shopping, leading to larger basket sizes and making us the fastest growing major store-based Food retailer in the period. Our CEO, Steve Rowe, said: "The market continues to be impacted by the headwinds and tailwinds that we reported in the first half, but I remain encouraged that our transformation plan is now driving improved performance.”
We’re teaming up with Costa Coffee on an exciting new collaboration – Costa Coffee Now Serving M&S Food. Launching next year, customers will be able to buy over 30 delicious M&S Food products, including new lunch options, hot meal boxes and children’s food, at 2,500 Costa Coffee stores across the UK and Driv-Thru lanes. We’re excited to expand our much-loved food range in more locations and give many more customers the chance to enjoy our delicious food-on-the-go.
