Today we're celebrating International Women’s Day! In 2019, we signed up to the Diversity in Hospitality, Travel & Leisure Charter and joined fellow businesses to improve diversity and inclusion across the sector. We’re proud to have a dedicated, passionate and skilled workforce. Over half of our employees (52%), including around 35% of our pub managers, are women. To mark today, we’re celebrating all of the incredible women at Marston’s and shining a spotlight on one of our team members, Hayleigh Lupino. Hayleigh is the Director of Group Finance at Marston’s and works alongside CEO Ralph Findlay on the Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company board. As well as excelling in her professional career, Hayleigh also works with Women in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure to make a positive difference across hospitality, travel and leisure. International Women’s Day is a call to action and a reminder that we all need to continue to challenge for equality. #marstons #wearemarstons #wecelebrate #internationalwomensday #ChooseToChallenge

"My entrepreneur" is how one of our Area Operations Managers refers to Pub Partner Mark Thomas, who runs his own Marston's pub, The Black Lion in North Wales. Why? Because Mark comes up with such ingenious ideas as using lockdown as an opportunity to increase community engagement, redecorate his pub, offer takeout Sunday dinners and live stream pub quizzes. Oh and he just so happened to raise £2k for two local children with impaired vision, recently as well. Find out more in our latest COVID Case Study. #pubs #community #wecare #marstons

Every year on 24 February World Bartender Day celebrates the bartender, one of the world’s oldest professions. Serving perfect pints, classy cocktails, wonderful wines and overall delicious drinks are what our bartenders are all about. They’re passionate about making sure our guests receive their favourite drink to make them happy. Even though our pubs are closed, their passion remains as they continue to hone their drink-making skills. For now, take some inspiration from John at The Griffin pub, on how to make a great tasting cocktail at home. And remember, it won’t be long until our brilliant bartenders can put their skills into practice once again and serve your favourite drinks alfresco in our pub gardens from 12 April. Until then, stay safe and enjoy! #wearemarstons #wecelebrate #WorldBartenderDay

Here at Marston’s the wellbeing of our people has never been more important, especially through these dark and difficult times. So it’s great to know that not only can we rely on our teammates to help keep us uplifted, but also our very own furry friends. So in honour of National Love Your Pet Day yesterday, we in the Recruitment Team have been sharing our pampered pooches, cuddly kitties and overall lovable lovelies who have massively helped our wellbeing throughout these tough times. From keeping us well exercised to providing those much needed ‘paw hugs’ (and bops in the face) we can honestly say they’ve helped us through! We’ve thrown in some pics for cuteness overload 😊. If you want to join a business that values the support and wellbeing of its people and of course the added bonus of having fun, then why not check us out at www.marstonscareers.co.uk or www.runamarstonspub.co.uk. We’d love to hear from you! #marstons #pubs #wecare #recruitment #NationalLoveYourPetDay

How have Marston’s Pub Partners coped with Covid? We spoke to Sally Lewandowski to find out how The Wishing Well in Bristol was able to make money during this difficult time for pubs. It’s been a test but, with a bit of inspiration and the support of Area Managers, Sally was able to make her pub Covid-safe and offer great takeaway pizzas, while pubs were allowed to open. With the extra time during lockdowns Sally decided to redecorate and regroup, so is now primed for success when pubs reopen. • Part of our commitment to the wellbeing of our employees includes a partnership with the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC) who operate a free 24/7 telephone line for Licensed trade workers with personal or financial issues which may be causing them concern or worry. We were delighted, therefore, to be recognised recently by the LTC in the category of ‘large pub chain’ (more than 250 pubs) for our outstanding corporate contribution to the cause. • Huge congratulations to Sharon, Head of Operations – Family Pubs, for winning a WeQual Award last night. The awards identify world-class women on the cusp of leading FTSE-listed companies and play an important role in driving a gender rebalance in leadership teams. The judges were hugely impressed with Sharon’s drive, leadership and business results. Very well deserved, Sharon! • When a residential home caught fire in Nantwich, local people gathered to collect and coordinate thousands of donations for the 150 elderly residents. Teammates at our Heritage pub the Cronkinson's Farm, jumped in to do their bit, delivering pizzas and snacks to volunteers who worked tirelessly through the night at Crewe Lifestyle Centre. They also opened the pub as a drop-off point for donations too. Well done team, great work!
