Morgan people make a big positive difference. At our Erlangen site, the team have started working with a local training centre, which is focused on training recent entrants to Germany. The centre helps to get people in to work placements; with each successful candidate completing a six week internship that tests their working skills and functional knowledge. New workers get both on the job insights and training. After the internship participants have a chance to get a permanent placement too! Great to see our people working to support the upskilling of people in their community.

At Morgan it is important for us to meet our environmental goals. At our site in Stourport we have recently installed a new water re-circulation system that prevents cooling water going in to the drains. We have saved 100 cubic metres of water a day, which is a 20% reduction compared to last year's water consumption. The project didn’t impact production thanks to the site maintenance and cell manufacturing teams supporting with the installation. What an excellent project to help minimise our impact on water usage!

Our people are the key to Morgan. Meet Abirami, our HR Manager. She has shared with us what it is like to be a female leader here at Morgan; from the challenges to the wins. She says that being able to strike a balance between being empathetic and pushing people for more so they can realise their potential is difficult to get right at times. As well as this, she finds that encouraging other leaders to incorporate physical and mental wellbeing of their employees within their strategy can be a challenge. Her advice for making sure her team is motivated and focused is to “Ensure everyone is mentored and coached well. Everyone is a leader by themselves; some show more of it and some show less of it, you just need to uncover potential.” Thank you Abirami for sharing with us!
