At Morgan we enable our people to take their personal development into their own hands. Last month we held elevate training at our site in Berkatal, Germany. It was great to see so many different departments and fuctions coming together. During the training they all learnt a lot from one another, and discussed different approaches they all use. What an excellent way to bring our people together.
Today Frances Williams has given us an insight of what it is like to be a female leader at Morgan. Frances has been with Morgan for 34 years and is our Finance manager at our site in Corby. She believes that a good mentor is key to becoming a great leader. She shared with us that someone she worked alongside helped massively with her development and how she approaches situations such as decision making. There are challenges in every aspect of people’s careers. She shared with us that “I definitely just take 5, it works in a lot of different areas, not just health and safety. Believing in yourself is especially important when facing challenges because it's easier to doubt and a lot harder to believe.” Being a leader has its difficulties and Frances tries to be the best leader by holding a mirror up, and asking if somebody else made that decision would she be happy. Then it is easier to see if she has reacted in the best way. Facing different challenges over her time at Morgan and growing with the company has enabled her to be a great role model to those at Morgan!
At Morgan we are committed to a sustainable future. Our aim is to ensure that our products and manufacturing processes are designed, built and managed in a way that enhances their value to society and our environment. At our site in Shanghai we have installed solar-powered vehicle speed detectors (on both sides of the site road) to remind vehicles to slow down and pay attention to driving safely. Thank you Shanghai team for reminding people to stay safe.
