PCORI-Funded Heart Research Highlighted on Good Morning America More than half of patients confronting the decision of whether to have coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for coronary artery disease are women or a racial or ethnic minority, but both groups are underrepresented in clinical studies. Highlighted this week as part of American Heart Month coverage on Good Morning America, a new PCORI-funded patient-centered CER study aims to provide data on which treatment, CABG or PCI, works better to improve quality and length of life among Black and Hispanic patients and women.
