“I mean, what kind of company rents an island for their whole team?”
Whether it’s escaping to an island for our annual getaway, offering unlimited paid holidays and equal parental leave or hosting peer coding classes, everything we do is rooted in our five core values. We have an L&D budget for every Paddler, offer public speaking workshops and organise lots of events from Pride to Diwali to Pancake Day! See where you could fit in.

Thank you to everyone who came out (no pun intended) to our Afterpride event last night!
Our HQ was packed with over 100 guests listening to intersectional stories from our three fantastic speakers Martin Pong, Okechukwu Nzelu and our very own Beata Lipska. Special thanks to InterTech Diversity Forum for supporting us to make this happen, and to all of our amazing Paddlers – Jeppe, Bianca, Paula, Kyle, Yago, Thomas and all others who organized, volunteered and helped out to make last night a resounding success! Also, that rainbow cake...
Happy National Bring Your Dog To Work Day!
At Paddle HQ, bringing a fluffy, furry, four-legged companion is welcome any day of the year. To celebrate today’s occasion (and to be respectful of everyone), we’ve made some Paddle Puppy Passports for anyone bringing their pupper to visit – complete with bilingual human-to-dog translation. ❤️
As we’re getting closer to hosting the Employer Branding edition of Oasis HR Group's HR Think Tank series, Thomas from our Talent team talks about his journey at Paddle and how we live our values, escaping the concrete jungle of London and tips for detoxing from technology.

We had a full house hosting our first Time to React meetup with Woodrow Mercer, and what a success it was!
Attendance was amazing with our open space at Paddle HQ bursting at the seams from over 130 visitors. Talks were great with our very own Amy and Hector speaking about Web Components and the rationale behind us using them in our component library. Then we had two talks around React performance, a subject that gets hotter as React becomes ubiquitous. Malte and Rheese showed us how they tweaked React to build their performant app-building tool, and Elliot brought us a super-energetic masterclass on how to optimise components. Really looking forward to the next one, big thanks to everyone who spoke, helped out and attended this event!
Here's Martha, Mark, Chris and Marcus at this year's Lead Dev London!
As a tech lead, you have to be a great developer. But you also need to be a good team leader, be commercially astute, and stay on top of all tech trends coming over the horizon.
Our people are extremely important to us so strong mentoring and personal development skills are key, both in senior developers and tech leads.
Also, nice hat Chris.
