  • Our Advertising Sales team at Sky Media have launched the SME100. It’s our £1 million fund which’ll help provide 100 businesses with TV advertising campaigns via AdSmart, to support them through these times.

  • Our #SkyBusiness Project Manager, Sean, has been supporting a nationwide group of volunteers that are making and distributing #PPE face shields for frontline health workers. “The group 3D Crowd have managed to put together a nationwide organisation in an unbelievably short time. Local hospitals, care homes etc can place an order with them which is then managed via a regional hub – with a team of volunteers working to 3D-print parts, assemble the masks, and get them to the places they're needed. All of this is free of charge, and is funded both by the volunteers themselves and via donations. I’ve been printing face shields for the last two weeks. It’s a real privilege to help out, however small my part in this is.” #LifeAtSky

  • Our Marketing Services Manager in #SkyBusiness, Alicia, is doing her bit to help protect and support the NHS and health workers by reinforcing elastic straps on protective masks. “My family and I are repairing faulty face masks for the NHS by using the sewing machine to reinforce the section where the elastic attaches to the mask. The NHS approached the local sewing club for their help, the word spread, and now it feels like everyone in the village with a sewing machine is taking in boxes of masks to repair! Offering up my very basic sewing skills was a no-brainer, as I'm in awe of all the incredible efforts of others and want to contribute in whatever way I can while at home”. #Covid19 #NHS #WorkFromHome #LifeAtSky

  • We're always looking for new ways to help and support each other, which has become even more important in the current situation. Our Retail teams remind us that we can all do our bit to help protect and support the NHS and health workers who are working tirelessly across the nation. #WeAreSkyRetail #LifeAtSky

  • For World Autism Awareness Week, Laura, who was told she was autistic at 18, shares how since joining us last summer, she's met many accepting and supportive colleagues who allow her to be herself at work. "In my application, I didn't disclose that I was autistic as I was worried about people's preconceptions. I considered asking for adjustments to the interview process, but found I didn't have to as the Software Engineering Academy assessment centre was inclusive and enjoyable. I was provided with a clear itinerary, was introduced to everyone, and given clear expectations for next steps. Every effort was made to reduce my anxiety about new locations, new people, and the interview itself without my having to ask - this gave me confidence that Sky was a place I could thrive. I'm lucky to work with people who accept me for who I am. They accept my different learning and communication styles, and include me in professional and social activities. I feel part of an open-minded culture based on respect and kindness which has helped me become more confident and develop my career".

  • #SkyNews 🌍 #SkySports ⚽ #SkyCreative 🎨 Beth has worked on them all. Our Vehicle Technology Manager, Beth, works across the business building innovative broadcast production solutions, making them mobile and using them on outside broadcast events. "Sky is a vibrant and innovative company that's willing to push the envelope and take risks - we're always pushing for the next great thing”. And Beth has helped this push, having supported #SkyNews in achieving a Guinness World Record for the highest number of live streams across multiple locations for the 2015 election, and working on the technology used in our Sky Q ‘mobile living rooms’ for #SkyRetail. “I have also been involved in several world firsts - we built the first satellite uplink truck fleet entirely based on a #Riedel system for Sky Germany. I also worked on creating the first folding mobile studio and a patented green screen augmented reality studio that could include a real-world window with no reflections for #SkySports." #LifeAtSky

  • 🌟 "I've never looked back - best decision I've ever made." 🌟 Before our Retail Sales Advisor Chris joined us in January 2019, he felt like his life was in limbo. One year on, he's been promoted to an Operational Support Leader and is in the running to win at our first ever #Retail Awards. "Before I joined, I was struggling a bit with my mental health as I'd just left a well-paid job thinking the grass was greener. I got a huge shock, and started on a downward spiral that I didn't know how to stop. But as I felt like I was failing in life, Sky came along. I've known about Sky since I was a boy, and have always had the ambition to work for a huge company that was cool, fresh and ambitious. My job is amazing - I get to interact with customers daily and discuss the great offers we have on products like Sky TV, broadband and mobile. I owe so much to Sky as they've really helped me get back on my feet. I've been given a purpose in life and been supported to become the best possible version of myself." #WeAreSkyRetail #LifeAtSky
