Sytner Group’s 2026 Elite Technician competition reached its finale recently where 39 of the company’s top-performing technicians competed for the prestigious title of ‘Elite Technician’ across 13 specialist categories. Since its launch in 2017, the Elite Technician programme has grown significantly. What began with just three categories has evolved into a Group wide initiative recognising 13 outstanding technicians each year, including all brands across the business. The 13 winners will be rewarded with an all expenses paid trip to Texas, USA. The prize includes attending the WÜRTH 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway as guests of Team Penske. During the practical final, competitors had 90 minutes to diagnose a range of engineered real world faults. These results were combined with scores from a theory assessment to determine the overall winners. To ensure the highest standards of integrity the event was invigilated by Tom Denton, Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). Sytner Group is proud to acknowledge the support of its partners. Shell Helix Motor Oils, Pirelli, Würth and CitNOW. The Group is also delighted to welcome Bumper; a new sponsor for 2026, strengthening the partnerships that support the competition. As the automotive sector continues to evolve, the Elite Technician programme reinforces Sytner Group’s dedication to celebrating and investing in the technical expertise that keeps the business, and its customers moving forward.

Last week Leicester Audi was host to Leicestershire Cares Youth Justice Team in a workplace tour to provide an overview of Audi's operations and the various career opportunities available within the business. The visit included a tour of the dealership itself and also a presentation and conversation held by the General Sales Manager Shakil. This included a brief history of Sytner Group and the different career paths we offer from various Apprenticeships or entry level positions to Sales, Aftersales or skilled Vehicle Technician or Bodyshop positions. The tour provided us opportunity to inspire and motivate the Youth Justice Team whilst being able to discuss the importance of possessing the right attitude and a willingness to learn. With special thanks to Jessica Kalar for her hard work in arranging the event, we’re thrilled to continue working alongside Leicestershire Cares to support our local community and have part in providing valuable information to support the participants future goals.
