I worked at Magic Leap (More than a year)

      Pros

You get to work with the best minds

      Cons

NDA limits what can be shared

I have been working at Magic Leap full-time (More than a year)

      Pros

Met some really smart, cool and creative people.
Free food half of the week and free coffee, although healthy options are limited.

      Cons

Lack of a defined company structure.
Either management doesn't appear to have a clue, or they are in on a very giant scam.
No defined job roles, phrases like "drink from the firehose", "wear many hats" are thrown around to mask this.
Hiring 6 idiots to do the job of 1 extremely qualified individual means the company "is growing" on paper, but practically will accomplish nothing.
Overqualified individuals are underpaid, experience and qualifications are not utilized.

      Advice to Management

Fix the company!!! Please do not disillusion employees. Please hire qualified, experienced personnel and let them do their job.

I worked at Magic Leap part-time (Less than a year)

      Pros

      The pay is quite generous.

      Some people there are knowledgeable.

They seem to have a lot of propaganda about being "great" and encourage positive reviewing constantly, but as stated, little to show for it.

      Cons

You have to wonder where they get any sort of profit from. There's existing tech already much past this level.

There seems to be a lot of people working on nothing or making little progress; even though it is their full-time job, and you would think it is a lot more serious and 'expert' level than a school for example but it's really not.

Trouble even getting in, month long period of no contact, then suddenly interest. I was dropped once in the process by this senior guy who claimed I didn't know textbook concepts which I had already tested on and gotten A's in every area.

      Advice to Management

Hire better people who actually know what they're doing, not just pretty college girls/faces.

Some of these guys have been spending years working on this stuff and their progress is basically like college students working on dysfunctional breadboard experiments; consider that before taking their considerations in dropping off elite individuals who can do their entire job. Will not even apply there, feel insulted by no contact, and then being dropped, etc..
