What does the team do?
The Instore Fulfilment Simulation Team works in Ocado's cutting edge Simulation Area. They combine Software Engineering and Research and Development to build digital models of Ocado's OSP grocery picking solutions.
This is a fascinating modelling domain, as it requires us to model unpredictable and complex human behaviour and interactions. The simulation tool is used to answer critical business questions, and to optimize software algorithms and business processes, so there's a great opportunity for someone to have a significant impact on the future of Ocado.
As part of Ocado's Research and Development community, the Simulation teams contribute to the innovation that fuels Ocado's growth, and work in a number of capacities:
What would I be doing?
We're looking for a leader who can do an amazing job of getting the best out of the people in the team, while helping the team members to reach their development goals. That said, we expect a lot from our leaders, so we'd also want you to be on top of the technical solution. Our team leaders pair with a product counterpart, so need to be an excellent communicator and team player.

Benefits: salary sacrifice car scheme, cycle scheme, private pension scheme (employer contribution matching of up to 7%), 25 leave days (5 days can be carry over the next year) + 8 bank holidays + holiday purchase scheme to buy up to 3 additional days leave, private medical insurance, can work from home 3 days a week, can work max 30 days per year mostly anywhere in the world (need to take 7 days minimum though), Employee discounts on Ocado products (15% discount but needs to spend min 40£/order to get it) and other retailers through the Smartspending app, flexible working hours, income protection + life insurance, 22 weeks paid maternity leave and 6 weeks paid paternity leave, Share save and Buy as You Earn share schemes, free coffees/milk/water + bread/bagels/fruits. Cons: no free lunches/snacks, some benefits have conditions as mentioned above. If you are an immigrant, as part of your immigration application, you will have to pay the application fee (from £719 to £1,500) and health surcharge fee (£1,035/year) to the UK government which is expensive and not covered by the company.
